Some of it is brilliant, but you have to go digging through a lot of cruft to get to it. Also, I hate that 1up song and what it did to Pauline's character as a whole. Still, miles better than fucking 3D World for sure.

I enoyed Odyssey but I don't want every game to be like it going forward.
Legitimately, Bowser's Fury felt like a perfected 3D Mario and I'd love to see more in its direction.

my reaction to odyssey was that while there was a lot of bloat, I was never short on things to do that were sufficiently stimulating. if I was bored of whatever bullshit collectable moons I could focus on plenty of challenging platforming. maybe I'm exposing myself as a casual I don't know.

Very condensed fun levels. Some levels stand out more than others.
Better experience than your 19074 hour survival crafting battle royale extraction RPG roguelites
If you pirated both Odyssey and God of Walk Ragnarok, Odyssey would occupy more of your time than that other thing.
