I think it helps a lot that everyone's preconceived notion of this was mid at best, and jurnos can't think past the cover impressions anyway, so when you start playing it and it just keeps slow-rolling you with the mechanics and features and you actually learn what the fuck is going on with the combat after 50 hours it really is just the best parts of elden ring and botw, except it also tries to have a story which falls flat they should have just ignored story like the other two.
Combined all the best features from other open world games and none of the bad ones (besides ignorable story) and make it look pretty. Its good.It must be an asian thing where they're not too proud to just take concepts and mechanics outright from other games because it never happens this blatantly with western studios.
