I had an idea for a fantasy game, where at the very beginning you see a group of heroes, all the classics, barbarian orc, elf archer, human knight, etc. etc. March off to fight the big bad guy, and then there is huge fuck-ass magic nuke explosion and they all die.
And then the game starts and you are playing as a Marquess and tasked with saving your realm from the evil bad guy by putting together a team of unconventional heroes, some grey area characters, like a necromancer flesh golem maker, and a poison/toxicity wizard, maybe a Hag or a Wight some other powerful magical monster, Goblins, Kobolds, Gnolls, Werewolfs, Gargoyles etc.
