>watching a full playthrough of a game before playing it>using a guide for the first playthroughIt amazes me people do these things
I have anxiety, BPD and OCD, autism and ADHD. Watching a playthrough to prepare first before playing helps me relax and not have a fucking panic attack from being overwhelmed by something new.

>>736217447Most of the time I just google if there are missables or if picking a harder difficulty gives me better stuff.
>>736218116This.Do any of you have any idea how infuriating it is for me to play the game normally only to realize the eviler choices net better rewards?!I always, since the first time playing any elder scrolls or fallout game, would go to the wiki or uesp to see both sides of the quests for which would give me a better reward, and that's if there was no way to exploit getting both rewards for the quests. Why yes, I do have both the ring of hircine and saviors hide, and it pisses me off that I never realized I could have put the cursed ring in a chest and took it back after for all 3 rewards. Seething about it to this day.
>>736217447Some old RPGs I know I won't be playing the second time any time soon, if ever. So I see nothing wrong with reading on what I'm missing on my playthrough when I'm at points of no return.
>talking with friend, he's bitching he has no good challenging games to play>I know he's into RPGs>I recommend him Etrian Odyssey, it's dirt cheap and I had my fun with it>some time later, we're talking again>"so, didja pick up EO?">"Nah, you can cheese the whole game with one Medic skill, seems kinda boring"mfw
>>736217447If I don't use a guide I end up restarting my game file at least 3 times before I commit to finishing a game. I just did this with Dread delusion. I restarted my toon twice before I settled on a build and path I wanted to take.
>use lvlup guide for your character>use guide to find the 'bis' items>use walkthrough guide for all the quests and puzzle>use mods that tell you the outcome of dialogue choices>use mods that make the characters cast spells by themselvespathfinder games good
>>736217447Guides are required for pretty much every notable JRPG pre-FFX, and even some after “Older” JRPGs were designed by actual sadists, including immeasurably important missable items, quests, story beats, and content in 30+ hour games Tales had the audacity to keep doing this even until ZesteriaDon’t even get me started on stuff like Star Ocean, where some god forsaken hidden affection value completely determines if characters end up happy SaGa games are arcane and borderline impossible without some kind of guide or primer to at least understand basic gameplay systems, not to mention story completion an secrets
>>736217447You have to realize that for most normies (golem hylics with no internal monologue, people that can't imagine a red apple in their head or read between the lines, they just parse words without understanding the meaning behind them) gaming is just another way to kill off some time like netflix so they can feel like they are a part of a group and talk about it with other retards irl, essentially it's all about fomo/hype and the social aspect, to a golem feeling like they are left out of the current thing is equivalent to suicide because then they might have to face their own thoughts instead of replacing them with mindless consumerism. So the whole point is to consume the game/movie as fast as possible, watch a guide/tiktok that regurgitates wikipedia so they can "get it" and then just parrot the same information ad nauseam in an attempt to virtue signal with other idiots.
