Any good somewhat recent >traditional< roguelike releases ? Been playing some Jvpiter Hell, decent DoomRL clone. I have Caves of Chud in my backlog but haven't gotten around to playing it. Other than that Cogmind possibly but I'm really not a fan of the setting and CoQ is pretty much the lowest I can go regarding graphical fidelity before it starts to bother me (yes, I played ADOM with the fancy graphix).
I am also following The Doors of Trithius and Soulash 2 but they're early access so I'm waiting for the games to actually be finished.

Rift Wizards is pretty solid

I wish the OST was available it's pretty decent. I question their decision to make a Demake of this game as a sequel though but it's EA so waiting until release.
>>736220332
Yes but wasn't a fan, felt too much like a Diablo clone which I really don't like.

It's a solo dev project I believe so think he's just trying to limp his one time break, ost release would be cool though
>>
>>736221214
Understandable, just not sure regarding the business side of things. I doubt DoomRL people did not play Jvpiter because of how it looked and people who did play Jvpiter might not want to buy the Demake (unless it really changes a lot of things).

I think ADOM is truly ass. Usually in roguelikes it's fun experimenting until you find the broken builds or find the way to game the system. In ADOM it just feels like you have to prepare for a handful of bullshit scenario the game will throw at you to reach the end of the game and if you don't then it's gg. Also the rape cave at the start of the game, what was the dev thinking? There's way too many obscure knowledge checks that you have to go through to finish the game
>nuh uh you can't kill cats because you'll anger the cat god or some shit
>this conveniently placed dungeon right at the start of the game? you can enter it but you'll die lole
>here is a beginner's quest (literal first quest of the game) about rescuing a puppy in a cave but unless you speedrun there with previous knowledge of several runs you'll fail it
etc. etc.

Rift Wizard. You will accept the low resolution pixel art. They're great games with lots of spells and skills to try out.
The two games look the same but work a bit differently.
1 is more about resource management. Saving potions for maximum value. Spells have more, but less impactful upgrades you can buy all of.
2 is way harder, refills your spell slots and HP each floor. While also being way stingier with potions etc to save you.
Spell upgrades now drastically change the spell itself. But you only get one.

>Rift Wizards
Thanks for the rec, it's not that ugly (actually quite charming). Bit expensive though so I'll wait for a sale.

More proof that God doesn't exist. I mean look at those retards, you're telling me someone made this?

Do you think God stays in heaven because he too lives in fear of what he's created?

I think they're cute. The problem is that they are probably cunts, like Emus or Geese.
