>heres your PC requierments for a 28 year old game that ran on a ps1
What the fuck?
>>
it was probably just worst computer they had in the office
>>
>>736231331
So my old i3 2120 computer can't run it
>>
>>736231420
That would be really funny lol.
>>
>>736231331
back in the olden days they had devs who wrote their own code and had to optimize it for smooth play.
today we have tranny vibe-coders who use ready made engines and dont know what optimizing code even means.
>>
>>736231331
They probably don't have anything worse to test it on.
Get the shittiest laptop on hand and see if it runs.
>>
the fuck do you want them to list? windows 98, geforce 256 and pentium 2?
>>
>>736231581
That sounds too hard why would anyone do that lol
.. just use Claude
>>
>>736231682
that would be based
>>
>>736231331
It's either due to the W11/DX12 requirement or some retarded DRM/compatibility wrapper they have running in the background.
>>736231682
Windows 95 actually.
>>
>>736231809
>It's either due to the W11/DX12 requirement
Sounds plausible. In comparison the remake's minimum requirements are very lax.
>>
>>736231331
Are they emulating the PS1 version at 10x resolution or something?

More like having to run steam on the background maybe heh
>>
>>736231331
Those CPUs fall in line with Windows 11's current system requirements. Since Windows 10 and below support is dropped by MS (and eventually will be by Steam), game developers give no fucks about it.
>>
>>736231331
>adding drm to a 30 year old game
what is capcoms problem
>>
>>736231682
steam requires winblows10 to download anything at all.
>>
>>736232556
It's drm free… you can just copy and paste the game from the steam directory and run it anywhere
>>
>>736232002
That can't be it. Steam isn't that bad, I could run it on my old shitbox university laptop and the original game ran on a 90Hz Pentium. Add these two and it's still not heavy at all.
>>736231947
Why do that when a native PC port exists?

lol

I can go back to the 90s in both games and download speed. I'd rather have DRM and download quickly from a store that realistically won't go under soon.

Why are the system requirements on Steam so much higher than GOG?
>>
>>736233818
probably because they put some bullshit DRM on the steam version.

>>

Would be hilarious, if it wasn't actually believable.
>>

@grok plz sumerianize this post 4 me
>>
>>736231581
The issue goes beyond trannies and vibe coding.
Modern languages, frameworks and coding practices aren't really built for speed.
We traded code efficiency for convenience because modern hardware is fast enough to deal with the bloat.
As a C programmer it makes me a bit sad. Mostly because I spent so many years trying to get good at it but this isn't the direction the industry has taken.
>>
Are there any updated guides on how to mod the GOG/Steam versions?

>>
I don't understand why anyone would bother with the steam version when capcom incorporates drm into an almost thirty year old game.
>>
>>736234786
It's a game that used to run on a Pentium. The first one.
Even if we consider that W11 is required, the system requirements shouldn't be that much higher than Windows 11's requirements (which at the moment are 4gb of RAM and a dual core CPU).
>>
What's the best way to play RE3?
>>
>>736234872
I don't know why they're even bothering, the game's already available DRM-free on GOG, so anyone who wants to pirate it can already do so.
This is such a waste of time and money.
>>
>>736235069
I see, but most PCs are stronger than that though.
>>
>>736235330
With a controller.
Anyway this guy's patches for the PC versions of RE1-3 are generally seen as the best way to play them.

Steam is a Chrome frontend that regularly uses 1+ gigs of ram WHEN IDLE.

That's because of the Enigma DRM that constantly rapes your SSD in order to check that your version is not pirated
>>

>do you expect them to find a 20-30 year old pc to test the game on?
Yes.
Are you retarded or just a third worlder?
>>
>>736231420
This is the case for like 99% of system requirement listings. Do you really think that devs are crunching the numbers to know exactly what hardware the game needs to run? They just try it on the hardware they have and whichever the weakest one is that can boot the game is the minimum specs while the strongest is the recommended.
>>
>>736236586
you do realize most min reequipments are just made up on the spot right? right? or do you actually think they spent time testing this? I released a game on steam and I just put in something that I thought sounded right lol

You're right and that's why they've introduced fake frames per second, fake resolution and soon fake lighting into the videogaming market so they can mask how awfully videogames run nowadays even on high end hardware.

Out of curiosity, are the GOG/Steam versions the best way to play on PC currently?
I still have the three games installed on my HD from when some anon used to post a bunch of links for all pc versions and improvements 6 years ago.
>>
>>736237403
Weird that all new games work fine on my lowish end computer without "fake" stuff, but somehow it's really big problem on those high end systems.
>>
>>736235372
No chevos, broken features, no differences from the GOG release, no extra content from the other ports, nothing. What was the point of this?
>>
>>736238049
as far as I can tell they are basically the same as the rebirth versions but I dont remember if the rebirth versions had hd textures that these might not have
>>
>>736238141
it's not like it cost them anything to release it on steam and lots of people don't buy things that aren't on steam.
>>
>>736233246
Go ask Bethesda with Skyrim.
>>
>>736238141
GoG always gets flagged as fraud by my credit union so I barely buy from them anymore unfortunately. The reason cited is “a lot of fraud gets reported in the country the company is based out of,” fucking polaks.
>>
>>736241082
>Polacks
The billing comes out of Cyprus for GoG last time I checked. It's worth it to just call your bank and tell them it's all good. Being able to own the install files without DRM is based.
>>
>>736241902
Oh wasn’t aware it was Cyprus. Either way I don’t disagree with you but it still gets flagged despite telling them it’s me and it’s okay to stop doing that multiple times. If I’m trying to buy a game outside of their business hours I’m shit out of luck.
>>
>>736231331
Please understand denuvo needs 8GB - 1MB of ram to run.
>>
>>736231420
It's probably the oldest set of parts that support dx12, if they used dx9 for example, the specs would probably be 15 years old, plus, probably also the oldest computer that can support windows 11 since the strict tpm2.0 requirement.
