The seamless flying between planets is a good technical start, but they should have built gameplay around it. We should be able to find and discover new uncharted planets not on the galaxy maps. They should have added in a new ship habs that give us stuff do while flying between planets. And give us collectable reasons to explore planets. For example, we should be able to capture any species or planet in the game. We should be able to put the species in a zoo or aquarium aboard our ship, and plant the plants either in hydroponics bays or for decoration. We should also be able to make trophies of any species we kill, so we can decorate our ships with them.

The only interesting part of the overall lore though relates to a war that happened in the past and you don't get to start again.
