No they don't. I kill a random enemy then I get flash refills. There's no icon nor aura, no visual nor sound indicator.

Magic is mostly scavenged in the overworld.
Believe it or not, most magic is actually just spamming Glintstone, unfortunately. You just get bigger Glintstone balls to shoot.

It's pretty good but your options dont open up until a little later on in the area after godrick.
Faith is okay as a standalone but a little limited especially early. It's really good with a strength build because there's a seal that scales miracle damage with strength as well as faith.

Don't worry about it. Take it at your own pace and eventually you'll find what works for you.

You can use them to cheese bosses by exploiting their aggro

It's mostly groups. Some bigger enemies count as groups but never in a dungeon.

They wanted to be lenient for exploration but couldn't go too far without breaking the map. For some reason the game doesn't register momentary landings as breaking your fall so even if you think your horse landed for a split second on an outcrop the game will treat it as if your fall was unbroken.

Usually there's some straggler that is hiding out somewhere that you missed.
It is often annoying to find them if you really need a refill, so I wouldn't bother hunting for them.

The horseman is pretty tough.
Depending on your build, it sounded like it was mostly magic, then he can be annoying for sure.
Your best bet is to skip the magic and use melee attacks, instead. Ashes of War on certain weapons like Impaling Thrust on spears or Square Off on straight swords are good options.

Summons are pretty sink or swim.
There are some that can beat the game for you. There are others that are almost useless.
They're definitely worth messing around with for your first run at the very least because they can take the aggro of some tougher late game bosses and let you catch your breath and not die so many times.

If you missed the certain event people are talking about in the thread, then you'll later get access to a hub area (you may already have this access) and you can buy the summoning item for a minor price.

My best advice for a newbie, is to level your health before any other stat, and 40 is the early game buffer, with 60 being the late game softcap on the stat.
Endurance is your next best bet.
Leave damage for after you got a good amount of HP and Stamina.

anon, he’s on horse back, so you should fight him when you get your own horse to ride, and if you can’t beat him by kiting on your horse then yeah your option is git gud faggit

Horseman is easy even at low level. Get up to 20-25 VIG so you can take punishment, ride on Torrent yourself, and just go for quick hit and run attacks. He can't outrun you so you can easily bait his moves to learn his moveset without getting hit, and then figure out your openings.

Fighting on horseback absolutely sucks.
I only occasionally use it as a caster. Even then it is worse than staying on foot.
