ALL of the things the average anon complains about discord (normies, groomers, orbiters, girls in general, etc) ASIDEDiscord was a good app if you found THE server for you, I mainly made my own and that way I kicked troons and girls and any nigger who dragged drama from outside, *could* be interpreted as an echochamber from an outside view, but freedom of expression was the main point of my server so there was a lot of N-words being thrown, but thats besides the point. The only REAL problem that wasnt just a skill issue in finding a server for you, was the implementation of the age verification thing (face scan) and a recent turning-up on the automated content moderation bot/thing, which nuked a lot of accounts these past 2 months, even for content that wasnt breaking any rules, it was just THAT sensitive nowSo, the question is, what app is gonna follow after, where can I go(and possibly the guys in my server), where did you migrate to?
What is Discord even good for?
>be artist>found highly active art server>making art becomes fun and enjoyable as I'm streaming my self paint and I get to here others chat and enjoy each other's artlove discord for artI don't use it for gaming though.
>>736245959it has its moments, definitely the best is seeing what others saw funny/interesting, or arguing with each other on bullshit, sometimes we played Noita co-op(w some anons from here)and the porn channels
>DiscordFor grabbing the latest mod versions when those idiots aren't on git. Not sure why homos insist on using it for group jerk-offs, but what platform is truly spared from that annoyance?
>>736246429i said bullshit anons complain about ASIDE nigger, make your own thread to complain about modding
>>736246327Correct.
>>736245764For me, I think I'll just point people to where they can find me with an email address or something and give up on discord/discord-likes altogether. You can host "the server" yourself with Matrix or some shit so you aren't having your data harvested, analyzed, and sold by pedophiles. Matrix is pretty comparable in terms of features to discord. The other thing about discord is that it replaced fansites for many communities, so a lot of resources are locked behind being in the discord for that community. You can't just go to the site and download or read what you want, you have to join their server and put yourself at the mercy of the moderators. Sure, you can just lurk, but what's the point of hosting the shit in a chatroom then?

>>736245959It has decent voice quality and group screen share with private invite linksNo other service has these things so it dominates. Steam actually has integrated group voice/game/screen share but absolutely no one uses it because its interface is DOGSHIT>have to start a new group for each voice party>have to make sure everyone is linked>have to confirm invite tokens for each screen share>everyone has to be on steam and friend codedDiscord is 1 click links...
