I am officially upgrading to an OLED (65" B5) for gamingWhat should I expect?
oled gamer here, you'll never go back
>>736247493Hope you don't emulate
vertical banding being more annoying than ips glow
I got an OLED monitor and it's kinda soulless, the blacks are dark, but it feels simultaneously too bright and too dark, and overall just looks harsh. Also it casts a reddish hue on all my food I eat at my desk, which is just weird.I usually just opt to game on my big 4KTV instead, it just looks more soulful
>>736247705I do, but why does that matter for OLED?
>>736247493worrying a lot as you watch the burn in slowly happen before your eyes
>>736247493all horror and space games to get a massive boost, perfect blacks really do matter a lot.
>>736247705Older games weren't made with it in mind. Can fuck up visuals in some games.
>>736247493Imagine being so retarded you spend money on an oled LG but then don't buy a C series because?????? You're too poor to spend the extra 200? So just fuck yourself over for the entire purchase? Keklemao
>>736247493i hope you dont play anything with static ui
>>736247946Below 60fps looks like a slideshow on OLED
Burn in. You will get them after a few years max, no matter what people say. I know even in this thread, somebody will reply they have been using theirs for 15 years and have 0 burn in, blah blah blah. You will have burn in.
>>736247493Burn-in
>>736247493>poorfag too cheap to spend another $200 for samsung qd-oledthere are no smart poor peopleenjoy your banding and dithering.
>>736248302>gookshitmiss me with that
>>736247493turn off all HUD elements if you dont want burn in
>>736248139I emulate stuff on my steam deck OLED and it looks great.
I wanna get one too, I still haven't decided if I'm going 55 or 65 but 65 is expensive so I probably can't go C5 if I'm going 65. I mean I can but it feels reckless spending that kind of money on a tv
>>736248726Dont forget to put a part of your budger towards a decent sound system. The spekers in the TV suck major dick. And a "sound bar" is just marginally better.
>>736247493You will regret this day.
>>736247493>What should I expect?-Debt.-Motion blur.-Having to buy a new TV again in 12 months.
>>736250259Sounds like poorfag cope
>>736247493If youre already gonna spend $1000 just save up for another month or something and get a C5. Dont cheap out on B series shit
>>736248114>>736248145>>736249557>>736250259Burn in is solved on newer LG tvs. It's not 2017 anymore. The tech has progressed so much that they provide a dedicated burn in warranty on the G series.
>>736247493>AIwatAnway, I have had a monitor and a TV for a couple of years now. I did make sure both had an onboard pixel refresh system, and I put those on a tight schedule (pretty much on every turn-off). Have seen any burn-in occur. Be very careful cleaning the screen, don't use any tissues or kitchen towels. Use microfiber cloth. OLED is unmatched when it comes to image quality, but it is more fragile than other tech. Just maintain it properly and you'll be fine.
>>736251017haven't*
>>736250974Im a C1 chad since it launched and have no noticeable burn in when I run the grey screen tests. I do set the desktop bar to autohide though just in case because its the most static element of desktop use.
>>736250974>Burn in is solved on newer LG tvs.they only slightly reduced the risk for the average TV user, not for the fucking gamer that has a constant HUD displayed while he play his favorite game, ence why there's a burn in warranty, fool.
The C3 is the single best gaming tv on the market. If you can find one , get it.
>>736250380Storage issues. Have fun stacking your broken TV every month lol
NICE BLACK CRUSH DOOD ACK ACK ACK ACK ACK ACK ACKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ACK ACK ACK ACK ACK
>>736249191unfortunately I live in a cucked apartment with shitty thin walls so speakers aren't an option. It's headphones for anything serious, and tv speakers will have to do for the rest
Marketers have actually convinced retards that burn in happens but it won't happen to them specifically, because they are special snowflakeseven though it's how the technology works and the very moment you turn the monitor on it's burning outguess what happens when you hit the 8 month mark and you can see the burn in and you phone in asking for a refund per the manufacturer warranty? That's right, you get told burn in is normal and expected and not covered by warranty so go fuck yourself.I can't believe this shit actually sells to people
>>736248145anyone saying you won't get burn in is a marketerit is literally how OLED works. If it doesn't burn it isn't OLED. The technology is inherently inferior and everyone with a brain is skipping it entirely
>>736248139Lossless scaling makes this a non issue
>>736247493VRR Flickering and aggressive ABL that ruins HDR
>MUH BURN INin rtings TV torture test OLEDs last the longest of any tv and have the least amount of failures.Better to have a TV with burn in than a tv that doesnt turn on. Just sayin
>>736248370LG is a south korea brand, too, you illiteral retard
