I will say that as a non-shmup fan, Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun are one of the few shmups that actually made me want to 1CC them. And I'm glad I did.
Both games are a feast for the senses and a joy to experience no matter how many times you play them. The spectacle alone will always be worth the price of admission, hence why these games convinced me to git gud at them.
But shmupfags act like this is somehow a bad thing, and it's somehow my fault I don't want to spend 100 hours playing shmups with mobile-tier visuals and terrible buttrock music.

It takes well over 200 hours to be able to 1cc Ikaruga and RS combined. Are you really sure that you hate any other shmups? No way there's no non-RS/I shmup that you like if you're willing to play them, there's tons of inherent overlap
