I'm still astounded with the Metroid Prime Hunters. A full fat shooter with network PVP, voice chat, and a fun campaign, packaged with a fantastic control scheme that's pretty close to mouse aiming thanks to the touchscreen. Plus it runs at a solid 30fps which is amazing considering it's on a handheld.
>>
plus doesn't it introduce the primary antagonist of prime 4?

It will always be crazy to me that Nintendo pulls off stuff like this, fails to see the appeal, and abandons it. They got that Splatoon series going right now, and then Prime 4 came out without multiplayer. Make it make sense.
>>
I remember playing this on flashcart over my neighbour's unsecured wifi back in the day because our own had the encryption type the DS didn't support. I forgot which. Also I remember thumb styluses kek

Fuck Super, where's the remake of Hunters? Or a sequel at least.

>Prime 4 came out without multiplayer.
That's still insane to me. I was convinced there'd be a multiplayer suite.
>>
You guys think it would be possible for someone to make a decomp of this game with online multiplayer?

>and a fun campaign
eh it was OK but compared to Prime 1 & 2 pretty bad. It started the disconnected maps trend Prime 3 took over later. The pillar boss with a bit more over and over again sucked as well. The highlight of the game was without any doubt the multiplayer.

I don't see why it wouldn't be
>>

It's probably my most played DS game, and I never even bothered with the singleplayer.
Local download play was a godsend.
>>
Am I gaslighting myself? I distinctly recall that Hunters created a small but growing machinima community at the time.

Prime 4'a single player wasn't even complete and you want them to work on multiplayer? Granted prime 2 was the same and is the best metroid but that's different

I genuinely played that game a ton with 2 of my "DS" friends from school. God those were awesome times. Being an awkward teen who was falling out of friendship with almost everyone, and I somehow got 2 randoms from the other class to play Nintendo DS with me. We played Mario Kart in the assembly during breaks and a teacher's eyes lit up, when he asked "why on earth are you playing on different machines together?" and learned it was wireless. And Metroid Prime Hunters, so I really got my mileage out of such a mid-tier Metroid Prime game. I love the atmosphere in the single player but the rest of it kinda sucks balls. I also got those to come for a sleepover where we played Smash Melee. Really good times.

Pretty sure you can play it over Wiimmfi.
>>
>>736255580
>decomp
At that point you might as well make a full blown fangame.
>>
>>736254563
There is no appeal in Metroid being multiplayer slop.
>>
>>736257038
I would have appreciated multiplayer ONLY with that game. 120fps deathmatches and capture the flags would have gone hard. Let us fucking race.
>>
>>736252852
>thumb styluses
i scratched the shit out of my ds screen within a few days with that fucking thing.
they did replace it though when i took it in and i didn't use it after that
>>
>>736259765
You were meant to lightly touch the screen, not squish it so hard that you mutilated the plastic.
>>
>>736260772
i think my muscle memory of using the analog stick on n64 and gamecube just had me using about the same amount of force on the ds touch screen as an analog stick
>>
>>736252852
I crave for this to be on pc ... loved it on the old DS back in the day, it felt like those old FPS like UT and more games with many game modes and they all were cool, miss it
>>
>>736252852
>the Metroid Prime Hunters
Saaaaar
>>
reminder some dude hacked mouse controls into this game
