Do you think sandboxes are going to win the MMO race to an everybody, all day, everyday game?
>>
>>736253198
>sandboxes
you fags always talk about shit like sandboxes and theme parks, vertical and horizontal progression, but how about you make people actually interact with another? no centralized marketplace, no queue finder for dungeons, no 700 different servers with a super diluted playerbase
probably can't stop wikifags but don't put a bunch of useless lore in the game and "have the text be the wiki". show, don't tell ya dig?

No, he's not.

WoW has massive churn. If this image is to be believed, WoW has like 50k-150k concurrent. RuneScape has 250k. People want to live in a world, and a sandbox is the only archetype that can give them that all day, every day immersion and engagement.

PS: https://newzoo.com/resources/rankings/top-20-pc-games.

It would be fun but that would require actual moderation which most people don't want because they want to live in a small quaint village filled with character but also want it to be a lawless ghetto. Every time I see people asking for this they get upset because they have to act like a member of a community rather than an nihlistic selfish cunt.

Community MMORPGs only work with niche boomer communities because the jannies actually make sure to filter out the worst retards and the community tries to police itself and generally promotes good behaviour.. Like a community. It doesn't want to be e-somalia. But most of the pepple suggesting it don't want that. They want Somalia, so it never works out.

never heard of this site and have no idea how their ranking is determined
Why should I believe it
>>
>>736254492
Newzoo was founded in 2007-2008. Its data is frequently cited by major media outlets (e.g., Bloomberg, Forbes) and top-tier technology and gaming companies.
>>
>>736254678
That says nothing about their methods to determine their rankings.
>>
>>736253198
These people need to learn how to touch their AI images. This shit is embarrassing
>>
>>736254753
The question is if they're credible, and a Google search says yes.
>>
>>736254831
Because massive corporations like Google are credible.

Do you think WoW's emotes, anatomy, and animation are good enough to roleplay a girl?

What's your favorite female race?
>>
>>736253579
I completely agree with that, you need systems that force people to interact with each other
>>
>>736253579
>how about you make people actually interact with another
i am not interacting with people who voted for kamala harris

dead genre
>>
>>736258027
I mean, it's not. It has players.

Is the genre comparatively dead to what it's been? Yeah. You can still play WoW Classic if you like leveling for hundreds of hours, and if you like economy, but I can't deal with phasing.

Is the future of the genre strong? We just need a dev or two to put in some months and make and advertise a perfect game.

Is a themepark without timegates a strong idea?
