A few months ago I was really into genning so I was spending hours everyday looking at ai art. If that's all you're looking at then its quality is acceptable. But then I'd find art that I'd really like and it'd be human made. Sometimes I'd know this for sure because it was made before 2020, sometimes I'd know because it's a piece of art I recognize from before, and sometimes I just trust that it's human made because it says it is (or more accurately it doesn't say it's AI generated). Even as AI art gets better and better and harder to distinguish from human made art I still haven't found a piece of AI art that's captured my attention in the way older fanart did.
