Exactly what makes the Elder Scrolls universe so OP? It's consistently placed in the top 5 of most powerful verse in fiction. However the shit you do in-game hardly reflects that.

Only valid if you misinterpret CHIM. Reality warpers are often useless outside their own reality and CHIM is a great example where it only makes the user powerful because they’re inside a story. In a “real” world an elder scrolls protag would be slightly superhuman with some magic abilities. Also because TES is a video game first it makes the gameplay the primary canon, stuff like Dragonborn feats in the “lore” or in game books is secondary compared to what we actually see via gameplay.
>>736255072>most powerful verse in fictionIn what way nigger?TES just has good worldbuilding, probably the best for a fantasy property that originated as a video game and hasn't had years of non-vidya worldbuilding to coast off of. That's what makes the TES universe praiseworthy. And CHIM is basically a Reddit secondary meme that virtually never comes up when you actually play the games. Vivec a.k.a. le epic CHIM man barely references the term at all.
Can someone explain to a lorelet what CHIM really is and how its gotten distorted by secondaries.
>>736255072This map implies you can ride a spaceship from one realm to another. Is that possible?
>>736255929ultra instinct, but for self-awareness. its a complete and total understanding of the inner workings of reality thats only achievable by godlike beings, because anything weaker unmakes themselves in the process of understanding it.people have conflated it into meaning video game characters know that theyre in a video game, and stuff like tiber septim using the console to turn cyrodiil into lotr land. if you read something about CHIM that sounds like bullshit, it probably is.
>>736255072Average man with an intelligence increase from a mostly regular potion was able to erase another guy from existence by disproving him with math.Metaphysically incompetent Heroes can do shit like personally genocide speciesMetaphysically competent figures can rewrite reality do do anything from surgically altering their names to become dragonborn by shaving off the parts that say they aren't, to ascending to divinity via similar method, literally become unkillable by becoming all of reality but still yourself, or fundamentally negating existence out of sheer nihlistic autism.
>>736256179yeah, for the most part. aetherian travel has existed in the setting for a long time, but most dont do it because its not really worth it. battlespire is basically a space station.op's pic is also just a fan interpretation. the aedra dont really have physical realms like the daedra do.
>>736256179No because they're realms. You can probably ride a spaceship to Masser and Secunda, but they're the body parts of a dead God.
>>736256897The 8 physical planets that orbit mundus are the Aedra realms, anon.
>>736255929it's like a mixture of gnosis and enlightenment, the only confirmed people to have achieved it are tiber septim, maybe vivec and mankar camoran. it's also not a constant state it seemingly needs to be maintained through concentration, it's either a path to godhood or allows retroactive edits to the mundus such as tiber septim turning the jungles of cyrodiil into temperate forest. it comes up in a few different places in the lore, and isn't directly talked about by an npc, other than heimskr when he's talking about talos
>>736257790>Orbit MundusYes but no. Their orbits are retarded
>>736257790the aedric planes are something different. they are out there, but theyre most likely not planets in the same way daedric realms are. the games havent visited any and theres no reliable accounts on their nature.just a reminder that tes does not use real world laws of nature and physics. the stars in the sky are just holes in aetherius. the "planets" could be anything. mannimarco turned into one and no one knows the mechanics of how it even happened. just one day a new planet was in the sky.
>>736255072What the FUCK are you talking about?
>>736255929Essentially: The Universe is the Dream of a forever-sleeping God (ANU the Everything)Everything in the Dream is a piece of ANU that goes about doing it's own thing. The first step to attaining CHIM is when one of these guys observes the universe in totum, and their place in it. Most doing this dissolve back into the Dreamsleeve and become one with the background mind of ANU again (Zero-Summing). Those that retain themselves have attained CHIM, and Essentially can lucid dream as a dream fragment. The step Above CHIM, Amaranth, is essentially taking the place of the Dreamer and Dreaming a new Dream.
>>736258276Anon, there's a literal Orrery that depicts the Aedric Planets and how they appear in physical spaceThe Oblivion planes aren't actually physically present within the Mundus, since they're not responsible for making the Mundus like the Aedra are.The reason we don't visit them is because the Aedra that they are aren't exactly in the state to be creating portals to their mostly-dead bodies.
>>736255072It's typical fantasy writer wanking. Read any fantasy series written since the 70s, they all have this grand cosmology worldbuilding. >most powerful verse in fictionYeah this bullshit is for ultradorks.
>>736256897According to KINMUNE, in the Grim Darkness of the 9th Era, Kynareth is being illegally mined for her breath. So yeah, they're definitely physical domains
>>736255072>It's consistently placed in the top 5 of most powerful verse in fictionby whom? some retards from youtube?Elder Scrolls world building is boring and weak as hell
>>736255929The entire setting is inside the dream of a sleeping God, an extremely, unfathomably powerful being that can create reality from thought alone. CHIM is essentially lucid dreaming - when a being within this dream achieves complete self awareness of their reality and is able to manipulate it at a fundamental level.
>>736255929God doesn't exists, but I am God.
