They dominate discussions about RE online now despite the vast majority of them never having played RE. This isn’t to say there are no women who are genuine fans of RE, or that there were no female fans prior to RE2R, but the vast majority of new fans are these poser girls that like talking about who Leon should be in a relationship with, or what Grace was thinking about during a cutscene. But they can’t tell you what a licker is, or what their favorite weapon is, or how they think combat in RE4 compares to RE5.

They aren’t as interested as men are in things like exploring dangerous, evil lairs or fighting and killing people. That’s just the way things are. You’re never going to get a 50/50 gender split for a military FPS either because women don’t really like competing against other people in who is best at murdering enemies with a gun.
