It's the best Zelda game.
No
>>736261631if i got most of the way through botw and never finished it (and ignored the story) should i replay botw or just go play totki know the story is probably shit in both but idk
Based and redpilled
>>736261801What kind of doofus do you have to be to ask a question like this. Just play the games
maybe the most forgettable. I mean it's not a "bad" game, but it had no staying power. I have no fondness or memories of the over 200 hours I spent playing it, despite collecting every. single. korok seed. Fundamentally, it's just mediocre. BotW is unironically a better game, not because the gameplay wasn't improved with TotK, it was, but BotW felt fresh and new at the time, it felt like something completely new for Zelda as a franchise, a literal "breath" of fresh air, even if it too is a flawed game. But I have actual fond memories of playing BotW and having some "whoa" moments when I did something in the world that was cool. For example, when I discovered you could roll a snowball down a hill to make it massive enough to open up a passage in the mountains area, that was cool, and the game had plenty of moments like that.In TotK though, it just didn't have that kind of experience because we already did it in BotW despite the new mechanics. There's so much stupid pointless slog in TotK. The entire depths area was so underutilized and pointless. The dungeons were a disappointment despite being an improvement over the divine beasts in BotW. The story was OK I guess, nothing special or memorable. The world was massive, but the most important parts outside of the caves were areas I already explored in BotW. It was just derivative and less inspired, not bad, but not really good either.
TOTK should have been perfect, and in isolation it's better than botw, but man, all I wanted was majoras mask botw edition. Incredibly fast turnover time with a much more unique feel and atmosphereInstead we got a pretty big breath of the wild dlc. It's very good, but the existence of botw makes it much less good, and likewise, it kind of taints botwI still like them both though
>>736261631It's not even better than botw, you retard. Shove your meme copters up your ass.
>>736262381>6 years>Fast turnover timeWhat are you fucking talking about?
>>736261631just beat it, was fun, but i came away thinking about how i really want a ZeldaRPG. Give me 5 niggas in a row, nintendo.
>>736262791he saying he expected a fast turnover game like Majora was to OOT
>>736261631true
>>736261801IMO if you really want to play one just pick TOTK. It's basically an expanded version of BOTW. Plus they retconned BOTW's story in TOTK so the plot doesn't even matter.>>736262267>In TotK though, it just didn't have that kind of experience because we already did it in BotW despite the new mechanicsI feel like you can only say this if you've been a fan of these games when they were fresh. I played TOTK in 2025 and it was an average game. Not the greatest game like the reviews say but definitely not a bad game. But when I tried to play BOTW a few months after I finished TOTK I couldn't be bothered to play the game. It doesn't even feel like a finished game, it feels like an early access game. It's so barren and traversing the giant map entirely on foot just sucks.
The tools you have and fusing are fun and there's a lot of care put into the many combinations you can do, but I just never feel like doing any of it because the rewards and story incentives are just kinda lame or nonexistant. It's a big "make your own fun" kinda game.Leveling up Health and Stamina is lame.I never feel like a """Champion""".Let me run faster, attack bigger.I want to run as fast as the Raiden Costume in MGSV.I want to get strong enough to attack like Link from Hyrule Warriors.I don't care.
>>736261631Breath of the Wild and the other one are AWFUL games, and especially awful Zelda games. If these games were realized and Link wasn't the main character no one would care about them. And rightly so, they're tech demos, not games.
>>736261801You could play Totk first, I say go ahead and jump in.
>>736262267>maybe the most forgettable.bad take, it has the most memorable events during the playthrough
>>736265026Too bad the story is hot garbage filled with cliches, so those memorable events don't hold up.
>>736265438Cliches? in Japanese fantasy? no way!
>>736263797>>736264968good to know thanks anons
>>736261631my only problem with this game is that the enemy variety sucks and they're so easy to kill. other than that its perfect
>>736261631nuhuh
true
>>736261631I disagree.
