As much as how trash it was, when I read it? i viewed it as a parody of the series... and with this mindset? I found it quite SOVLFUL and enjoyable V-V

If you go in expecting a story on par with the first two games you'll be met with disappointment and frustration because of the ass pulls the story has. I'm not saying the first two didn't have ass pulls or dumb parts of the plot, just that this one goes beyond to a new level of stupid. There are some decent moments in this one, but the bad really outweighs the good. The escape rooms also feel phoned in compared to VLR, since they removed the optional harder puzzles for bonus files.
If you go in expecting a shitpost you'll be in for a good time.

The Delta twist is fucking stupid. It needed to be better foreshadowed, because even after looking it up, it still feels like bullshit that came out of nowhere.
>>
it's a complete shitpost from start to finish
you'll wish you enjoyed it more once you're done
>>
>>736262108
yeah... i don't think budget was this game's main issue. The first two games were made on even less and they were good.
>>
>>736262618
Regardless of how you feel about it, all Zero Escape fans are honor-bound to experience ZTD in full
>>
>>736268140
I fucking hate how true this is.
>>
>>736267436
It's foreshadowed a shitton.
>his shadow is in a bunch of scenes
>anytime Q team gets knocked out or killed there's always an extra sound of him hitting the ground
>game doesn't consider Q a valid name for Sean in several scenes
>anytime they're "talking to Gab" it's actually him slightly off-screen
>Sigma talks about Q not being able to see/hear what's going on which doesn't apply to Sean
That's just off the top of my head. An anon did a breakdown years ago but I don't have the screencap on this PC unfortunately.
At a bare minimum it has more foreshadowing than any Danganronpa twist.
>>
Mind Hack.
>>
>>736268140
ZTD is at least fun and has a lot of neat ideas. There are worse experiences. I couldn't even finish AI 2.
>>
I still think ZTD is a masterpiece and that VLR tried too hard.
I didn't ask.
It was all bullshit from the first game, why shouldn't I enjoy more bullshit?
Retards, all of you.
>>
Creating a mystery-laden COMPLEX narrative without first creating a document that actually ties up all the ends should be a warcrime. Mandatory castration for anyone who can't show their work at the end.
>>
>>736268567
My guess is ZTD's development was an absolute nightmare and Uchikoshi hated the experience so much that he doesn't want to follow up on it in any way and would rather move on to other things.
>>
>>736268787
There is no following up
The story is over
>>
>>736262618
The third game is the worst game in the series,
By that, I mean that it's the most entertaining
By that, I mean that it's the best in the series
>>
>>736268873
It literally ends in a cliffhanger.
>>
>>736268965
You don't know what a cliffhanger is.
>>
My question is, was in the end, Delta manipulating EVERYONE, including Akane's first and second nonary games, VLR's AB project, and then ZTD's final game?
>>
>>736268424
The problem is the twist is still a twist purely for the players. Saying it's foreshadowed doesn't make it good.
>hmm we want to put delta in the decision game because he needs to die in certain routes for his supposed 999 iq plan but showing him would make it too obvious that he's the mastermind to the players
>okay we'll make it so he's always conveniently just out of shot of the cameras
>but sir what about the other members of q team they'll know he's there
>lmao who cares
VLR's twist with Sigma is dumb because Sigma somehow never sees his reflection, but there despite everyone knowing aside from Sigma it works for the player because Sigma himself doesn't know. With ZTD you play as Sean when doing the Q team segments, but we're not allowed to know what Sean knows because that would ruin the story. It's almost as bad as the twist in Nirvana Initiative, with that one only beating out ZTD because it's not even a twist in the plot, it's the game hiding what day it is to the player.

Sex with redheads. That is all.
>>
>>736269273
Bruh it ends with them going off to deal with the terrorist. It's no different from VLR's ending.
>>
>>736270769
Those are all different timelines he can jump in and out of, so yeah.
>>
>>736271534
It is not.
VLR ends with Sigma jumping to stop the Radical-6 outbreak at the Mars mission test. VLR builds up to this over the course of the entire game, as Radical-6 is a huge part of the story.

ZTD ends with Delta explaining to them that the purpose of the Decision Game was to train their shifting abilities to make them ready to stop the terrorist. This terrorist is not revealed until the end, he is not a part of the story. He is not a conclusion to be awaited.

Take a minute and ask yourself what exactly the story of a fourth Zero Escape game is. We have a large group of shifters targeting one regular man. Consider further that this is an escape room series.
How do you make a fourth game for this story without it feeling absolutely contrived?

They stop the terrorist. Spoiler! You went through ZTD so that they could do this. So they do it.

>>736271975

Also like this Anon puts >>736271975
It really lets you down on the ending by not going into detail and you also dont get to see the epilogue that as a fan you wanted to see of how everyone wound up after all the crazy shit is cleaned up.

Holy shit. I just realized
How fucking DEEP was the author when he basically revealed us the main plot of the third game, in the end of the second one? Was everything planned from the very first game to have basically Delta to genuflect everything?
>>
>>736271975
>Delta explaining to them that the purpose of the Decision Game was to train their shifting abilities to make them ready to stop the terrorist
He already knew that half of them were shifters, he never said training that ability was the purpose. Everyone is determined to stop the terrorist cult by the end of the game and Delta explains that the only reason they are that determined was because of him and that that was the purpose. In the true timeline radical-6 never spread and the games were never held therefore the only threat is the doomsday terrorist cult and Delta dindu nuffin
>>
Seriously what ever happened to Kyle? In the extra story at the end of VLR Akane explains to Kyle that he'd be going with Sigma since he's needed yet he's never seen again. My best guess is that Kyle is some sort of stand-in for the player and the player is the one that needs to go with Sigma? That sounds retarded but it's my best guess
>>
>>736273115
The POV for that wasn't Kyle, it was ?
Which is (You), who is using Kyle's body to interact with everyone
And that scene is very, very obviously not strictly canon. It's a "thanks for playing" epilogue where (You) get to see everyone after the events of the game because Sigma left
>>
>>736273027
So we can resume everything on

>Delta SOMEHOW knew the end of humanity, apocalypse, caused by the retard who nuked the Earth, thankfully done due to the shitty snail that changed its route
>Delta knows he needs a special tactic group of people to stop the retard
>But he needs Phi and Sigma into the final game, knowing what happens on the alternate timeline of VLR
>on that timeline, he knows Akane and Sigma plot to create the AB project so they can go back to stop Radical6, so he sends Left to actually, help them instead of sabotaging them (literally that's the sole use of Dio)
>But said timeline cannot exist if Akane dies on 999 and therefore, on the first Nonary game, which involves Clover, Snake, Santa, Ace and Seven
>therefore he needs Junpei to help in the first game and the second game, and while we are at it, in the third game too
>therefore he MINDHACKED everything from the events of the second nonary game, to the first nonary game, to the AB game, to ensure that Junpei, Akane, Sigma and Phi got into the decision game at the same time (the most powerful espers)
>so those four could help Carlos and co. to awaken their esper powers
>to also ensure, 100% that Phi and him will live no matter what (if Sigma doesn't live in VLR, Delta neither exists)
>all so the group who are involved one way or another, to ACTUALLY stop the apocalypse

But what about "?", which it was (You)? At all times, "?" is us, but at the same, "?" is Delta? Even if the VLR Epilogue isn't canon, it's very obvious it hints on what "?" was watching.

Very, very complex indeed.
>>
>>736273493
>Delta SOMEHOW knew
He mind hacced shifters and could gain knowledge of potentially infinite different timelines and futures
>>
>>736262618
ZTD retroactively ruined the first 2 games for me, which I loved up until that point
After finishing ZTD I vowed never to give Uchikoshi a single cent, or another minute of my time to play anything else he puts his name on
It not just bad, it's outright insulting to the player

Nobody on /v/ has actually played this game. /v/ just regurgitates shit post exaggerations and pretends a game they haven't played is "so bad it's funny" when it's just typical Uchikoshi absurdity with subpar presentation.
