Getting the medals and doing all the alternate routes wasn’t really a niche thing, the devs wanted you to do that and a lot of people talk about those elements as one of the best parts alongside the presentational aspects. The problem quite literally stems from the fact that >AdventureStrayed completely away from the Star Fox formula outside of the like 4 minutes of gameplay where you shoot asteroids and the final boss. It is a reskin of another game entirely, might as well be a side game>AssaultThe on-rail segments are nowhere near as good as 64’s, the level design is basically non-existent for them as you just go pew pew pew pew with good music and alright dialogue. The on foot sections are a completely different game and although they aren’t that bad and expand upon 64’s dinky on-foot mode the true fans unlocked, it’s still a mess.
