I feel like the controls should be 1:1 with the original since they were already perfect but I hope we get full sized towns/cities and restored cut content and unlike the 3DS remake it doesn't censor content and instead mayhaps we get the first M-Rated Zelda?

All good remakes change everything. It makes no sense to merely remaster it and call it a remake. The original will always be there to be played.
>>
It needs to be a full remake
>>
>>736267795
It doesn’t need a remake. If you make one you need to include cut content and new mechanics and at that point just make a new game
>>
>>736267840
No. If you're going to change everything just make a new game/sequel. There's nothing worse than a remake that changes shit just for the sake of changing it. That's not a fucking remake.
>>
Impossible to say, but I would speculate that it will be be fully rebuilt from the ground up. What that means I couldn't say.
>>
>2 games, one for kid link phase, another for adult link phase
>both premium priced at $70~80 each
>plays like botw
It's gonna happen and I already hate it.
>"yeah, but you don't know it'll happen"
No, it's the stupidest worst fucking outcome, and I 100% believe Nintendo is retarded enough to do it.

>>
>>736267795
I hope it's a complete remake. The original will always be there, it's playable on basically every platform too.
>>
>>736269083
LOL, NO. You're gonna get extra shit, but it's gonna be on par with FF7 Remake dogshit padding bloat. The time it takes to open the deku tree's dungeon will be 2 or 3 hours alone, with the smaller parts that were used to get your initial gear instead being stretched out with shitty ass mini-dungeons.
>>
>>736267795
it should be a full remake but I'm just worried about them botw-ifying it.
>>
>>736269228
Oh yes anon, it's going to blow everyone's minds when they release Ura Zelda exclusive to Switch 2.
>>

I remember when that name meant something hype...
>>
>>736267795
Don't know, don't care. As long as princess Zelda is remade with a tight form fitting dress and big perky milkers, it'll be a success in my eyes.

If you look at every remake Nintendo put out on the Switch they were all pretty basic remakes that kept the same basic original game. Look at games like Link's Awakening or Metroid Prime or Mario RPG. This remake of OOT will just be like say the MGS3 Remake was last year. Still basically the same game as the original just updated with modern graphics and minor gameplay tweaks. They will probably add voice acting as well which is actually a bad thing as Nintendo only uses terrible awful ear rape anime weeb voice acting instead of normal voice acting.

I'm expecting a full-on remake with OoT3D as a base. There are a lot of ways and places they can expand on.
>Lost Woods with more areas, the Deku Scrub society in particular
>Sewers under the castle town if you look at where you get the Ocarina of Time and can come out from the right side of the castle
>Deeper into Death Mountain Crater
>Higher up in the Gerudo Valley towards the plateau
>The Haunted Wasteland is the biggest area that could be expanded on, potentially leading to a Gerudo village away from the fortress
>Desert Colossus only because it was such a small area
The world map has a few areas that could have some stuff added.
If they really wanted to go the extra route, they could use the Lost Woods to connect Hyrule and Termina together, adult Link potentially going to Termina without the moon looming over the land.

People want a spiritual sequel to OoT, or rather the OoT formula.
>>
>>736269228
>but it's gonna be on par with FF7 Remake dogshit padding bloat.
No it's not. FF7 had an incredibly long strong, held together by pre-rendered backgrounds. OOT can easily be remade today, it's a much smaller game.

the developers of that came out and said it was essentially a zelda 2 esque overworld and whenever you got into a battle u would swing the wii remote to hit wolves but also you couldn't miss the wolves so it was basically wack a mole without the challenge, that's why it was rejected because it was awful

They'll just keep the skulltulas but you'll have to find 500 of them. And even the 100 you can find in the game are in arbitrary places, but your reward isn't a pile of shit.

If that happened, I would genuinely start strangling Nintendo fans. Not Nintendo devs or suits, but Nintendo fans, for enabling things to get so bad.

That's the thing though, they would never make a new game in the style of oot. So if it's been a remake of oot and a new game nothing like oot then I'll pick the remake, thanks

If Nintendo had any faith in Tomodachi/Yoshi being big hits and Pokopia maintaining strong legs, they wouldn't keep putting off having a general Direct for this long.
>>
>>736267795
A remaster is the better option especially after what FFVII remake did to just Midgar, but I'd ask for an expansion of existing content as well as looking at cut content and re-adding it, Light temple would be nice.
In an ideal world we would be getting this along with Majora's Mask following the next year and then a third game in the same continuity releasing the year after.

Why would it be that art style?

I would be fine with an Oot 3d and MM 3d pack that works in both Switch and Switch 2 (with enhancements) just like Mario galaxy 1 + 2. Im not confident a full fledged remake will be good given how bad shit like RE4 demake, anal fantasy VII, Metal Gay Delta and Silent Cringe 2 went
>>
>>736272927
It's for that reason that I'll probably just never get any OoT remake unless it's straight Galaxy 1/2 tier remaster like you said

I don't care in the slightest to have my favorite game of all time ruined by any (((modern audience))) bullshit as /pol/ would say
>>
>>736270653
The thing is, OoT is one of their "prestige" games. They'd probably treat it differently from the likes of Link's Awakening (a handheld game), Metroid Prime (whose Switch rerelease was a remaster by its own admission), or Super Mario RPG (a spinoff). And that's why there's cause for skepticism until we see anything concrete. FF7 Remake was fucked up in part because they had the logic of "this is one of our prestige games so we HAVE to get stupid with it!!!", as opposed to their smaller-scale games like Trials of Mana and (lol) Super Mario RPG which got much more faithful remakes.

who cares? its a cynical move by Nintendo. If you release the OOT remake and then two months later release a new Mario or Zelda no one would care but they won't which prove its an excuse to get people to buy Switch 2
>>
>>736273201
>Super Mario RPG
>more faithful
I think that's moreso on Artepiazza than SquareEnix or Nintendo themselves, since making the game even fucking easier with the added bullshit like a huge ass inventory, timed hits being hit-all-enemies, and triple-techs was just pathetic. That said, I do think the idea of triple-techs is cool, and the one thing that I think the original needed coming off the heels of Chrono Trigger, but I wish they weren't so damn strong.

I'm personally quite confident that what we're getting won't suck. Nintendo understand that OoT is a game that people really respect, which is why the first 3DS remake was relatively conservative, it's a game that works because there are so many carefully thought out and deliberate aspects that make it what it is, and I suspect that part of the reason Nintendo are putting the reported budget into it they are is because they know people want them to not fuck this up. Conversely, the actual flaws OoT has are both pretty clear and also very amendable to being fixed. Nobody wants to drop into a secret grotto hidden in a cool way only to find this one is again just a chest with a blue rupee that just gets wasted on their full wallet, and I'd expect a high budget redoing to nicely solve problems like this.

The way that there seems to be tons of general agreement on what OoT redone should be like in order to realize more of its potential while preserving the good qualities of the original game makes me not particularly scared that they will somehow catastrophically fuck this up and do something really stupid.

OoT being redone is

>>736270379
A full on ground up remake was basically necessary for FFVII because very little of the game existed in a form that actually made sense to preserve. Everything about it necessitates a basically ludicrously labor intensive redoing of everything into a form that is naturally different from the original, and Square ran with this to create something that could only barely be called a remake. OoT's case is extremely different, it's much more well preserved and is full of things that can and should be translated very faithfully along side with any 'upgrades' they choose to put in. OoT's mechanics were always vastly more advanced than the primitive stuff that the original FFVII was made of.
