DRA1 is decent, the problem is that the only english translation was obvious MTL (picrel).
SDRA2 is much better and got an actual english translation. It has the best 3rd chapter in the history of Danganronpa desu, official or unofficial.
Perhaps it is a bit too guro at times (coincidentally in the 3rd chapter), but still.
A big issue here is that a lot of the payoff in SDRA2 comes from knowing the events and happenings of DRA1, at least the happenings of its final chapter.

Apparently some of the VAs that left found out about the rest of the planned storyline and are going to present it (how they're going to do it is unclear currently) for the sake of closure.
