Some of you zoomies don't know this, but hard games were invented by arcades in order to steal difficulty from children. They have no artistic value whatsoever, they are purely a monetary and financial decision. No game should be hard EVER.
>>736273927>Enemies do two points of damage per hit>Every enemy is a sponge>Upgrades do essentially nothing to change thisMaybe it just sucks.
Some people like challenge
>>736274075Agreed. I don't care if I'm in the minority for thinking it, but the game was chock-full of artificial difficulty fucking bullshit that made me not give a shit at all about the game by the time got like 50% through, let alone finished it
>>736274228>artificial difficulttyGame journo IQ level detected. Opinion discarded.
>>736273927stale old bait
>>736273927game is too easy -> don't have to think to play it -> gets boring
>>736273927Okay. That's not going to make Silksong any easier.
>>736274075>>736274228Maybe some people want the difficulty of a sequel to pick up where the previous game ended.
>>736273927>>736274075>>736274228These niggas died to the last judge’s fakeout
>>736274075damage upgrades do a lot. 2 damage upgrades let me kill a certain enemy twice as fast.
>>736273927They were invented before arcade, lying zoomoid
>>736274075T H I S>get attack upgrade>literally does nothing
>blowdart sniper starts jumping around like a ninja on crack>throw grenade>obliterates him in one hit:)
>>736273927> steal difficulty from childrenread before you post, dumb faggot
>>736273927>they are purely a monetary and financial decisionthat makes no sense when applied to general gaming. What do coporations gain from making things harder?Arcade marketing is not video game marketing
>>736275483This. You want the right level of difficulty. And I'm not saying overly hard is always the answer, but game journalism mode should never be an option.
>>736273927Threads like this were invented by faggots to steal (You)s from me
>>736273927>steal difficulty from childrenHow did they accomplish this?
>>736273927A game is a teaching tool that ideally recursively teaches the player how to have fun.Difficulty can be used as a soft barrier for the player until they learn how to have fun without acting as a rigidly defined barrier. With no difficulty, the game risks the player never learning how to have fun.Quartersuckers may have at least partially done this unintentionally, but without competent game design they would have ultimately failed at that task.>>736278948I don't know, but there has to be a reason for why modern day thots are so easy.
>>736278948How much difficulty are we born with? How much do we die with?
Will people still be crying about difficulty when the DLSea comes out?
>>736273927I didn't find it that hard though
>>736274228Enemies being strong is not artificial difficulty. Artificial difficulty is having random parts of the map insta kill you or having your items randomly break or get completely stolen with no foreshadowing and stuff like that. Wizardry is the classic game of artificial difficulty, and Silksong has nothing in common with it.
>>736273927Still You Didn't Beat the Game
>Games are supposed to be fun>Hard games aren't fun, just frustratingSimple as.
>>736273927At least coin stealing was an intentional design choice made by people who knew what they were doing.Modern Slopsouls-like are made by NPCs with baby duck syndrome that mindlessly copied the coin-stealing design of the games they've played in their childhood out of pure nostalgia, without understanding the meaning of what they're coying. And then THOSE games induced the baby duck syndrome in a new generation of retards who now think games are le supposed to be le hard in this coin-stealing way. There is a moment in any Slopsouls-like where you die in a boss fight, but you don't respawn at the beginning of the fight, you respawn 15 minutes away at a "bonfire" and have to run past the respawned trash mobs like a headless chicken.Anyone who doesn't instantly uninstall a game after experiencing this moment is a drooling imbecile that does not qualify as a human being.
>>736274075Never played silkasong. Dropped hollowkbight because i got bored and the art direction made it hard to see whats a background element and what isnt. Anyhow that sounds like the devs did not get memo from souls games where yes, the game may initially seem hard but there are so many items and progression stuff that eventually levels the playing field until you manags to advance again.
