>early 2025>old gaming laptop died>lost so many personal files I've been accumulating over the span of almost a decade because I was too lazy and careless to back them up>sigh.mp3>I resort to using an even shittier craptop I bought on sale earlier because it's convenient, but it can't handle the demanding software I'm interested in>the prices of consumer electronics have gotten so expensive in my mind I should either go big or go home>have been meaning to upgrade and get a high-end gaming setup for years>just kept procrastinating>find out nvidia 50 series GPUs recently released>check FPS benchmarks to see how the 5090 performs>plenty of titles run below or way below 240hz average in 4k>"why do they sell these 240- and 360hz panels if the games running on the absolute best hardware can't go past 60, 90, 120, 160 etc.???"cont.
>learn about how poorly optimized modern games have become through a couple of youtube video essays>comparing the AMD and Intel CPU flagships>the latter has noticeably higher FPS on average but lacks the QuickSync feature that comes with the Intel CPU>see reports of the 5090 catching fire because of the insufficient power cable capacity>fuck this shit I'll just wait for the next generation>rumor has it nvidia is going to release the next generation in late 2027>pic related>a few months later RAM crisis happens>pic related>and then I also see prices for HDDs and SSDs increase>pic relatedI'm still using that craptop. The itch I feel to upgrade is stronger than ever, but I'm going wait this out until the benchmarks release for the next flagships. Which will most likely happen in the span of 2028 based on the most recent rumors regarding the 6000 series release date. If the price doesn't justify the performance I will consider a cheaper build or just ditch this idea for something less expensive. I pray to science for the love of gaming please universe make this AI bubble pop okay thanks for coming to my ted talk. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
>>736280315>lost so many personal fileswhat the fuck do you even have to store, 99% of that shit is random garbage, if you really need to store them in the cloud or something>b-b-bbbbut privacy o algo ............encrypt them, nobody is breaking modern encryption standards just to see what anon has stored on his shit, and by the time they do it it will be useless
>4k>BestLol LAMO you got memed on son. 2k native 144hz. Miss me with that upscaling shit.
>>736280457>what the fuck do you even have to storeI don't want to talk about it
>>736280941If the SSD/HDD survived you can still pull your old files off of them though, it could just be the power supply that died.
>>736281206I got it to turn on, but I couldn't find the drive in the BIOS so according to my research that indicates it's all caused by the harddrive dying
>frogblogWHO THE FUCK CARES
>>736280463I can't tell if you're being genuine or just lying to cope with how you couldn't afford anything betteris 4k actually overrated?
>>736280315your data is most probably still on your disk you stupid faggot
>>736281404you cared enough to post a reply
Nice blog you stupid fucking faggot
>>736282546No it's dead I checked in the BIOS it does not show up
You still benefit from a higher refresh rate even if running at a lower framerate. The frames will be outputted quicker on the display. I think gsync benefits the most with higher refresh rates; Mostly due to the fact you have the fastest input latency possible, with the framerate that you have, as well as no screen tearing.>>736281314The drive port could have failed. I recently tried to open an older laptop for repairs, but anus had other plans and caused the motherboard to slightly break. Everything works, except for the one hard drive port on board.
>>736284732>The drive port could have failed. How I can check?
