It does get more dramatic, but most of the excitement happens toward the end. The plot is not as interesting or as tightly authored as the first game. The scale and stakes are a little inflated in the second game, no longer focusing on one man's journey of self-discovery and brushing shoulders with small time lords on a local scale. What the game does excel at is role playing and mechanics. Get immersed in the world, build some armor, hunt some game, craft some potions, and let the story just unfold.
