Steamies still can't explain that one.
the asking for password bit is referring to emails
Tim would never
>>736294329It doesnt say "in emails" it says STEAM WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD, and there is steam asking for your password

>>736294397they aren't asking you for it, you simply must type it if you want to login
>this is the depths timmybros need to sink to in order to strike at Steampathetic and sad!
>>736294628Oh the guy behind me at the ATM isn't ASKING for my pin number, you simply must type it if you want to withdraw cash
>>736294397if you genuinely think this is an issue and aren't being facetious, you should get yourself checked, you're probably autistic or are retarded in some shape or form.
>>736294167Passwords are encrypted, Steam couldn't tell you your password even if they wanted to, when you input it it gets mangled into a one-way clusterfuck of letters and numbers, and if it matches what is stored server-side it logs you in.Yes this does mean that there could be multiple passwords that resolve to that aforementioned clusterfuck, but the odds of this are astronomically low to where it's effectively zero.
>>736294167ANON STOP YOURE LOGGING IN TO EVIL STEAM
>>736294685what kind of shithole do you live in? in my first world country they just ask for card and id and how much would you like to withdraw
>>736294767>what is stored server-sideAnd who owns those servers? Hmmm?
>>736294167you can tell a retarded zoomer made this "meme"
>>736294685your scenario involves a third party, a guy trying to peep on your pin number. there is no such third party when you're sitting in your room alone logging into steam
Showing my age here but I fucking hate how nowadays if you don't log into a site or app for a week it logs you the fuck out. Just keep me logged in holy shit.
>>736295047>there is no such third party when you're sitting in your room alone logging into steam>alone>he doesn't know
>>736294767No, in most systems, your password is plaintext right up until it is hashed on the server. Steam support wouldn't be able to tell you your password but any dev with no oversight and proper permissions could add an interceptor right before the hashing occurs to tell you your password. But this wouldn't realistically happen, so your password is effectively unknown to anyone but you.
Only /v/ could seethe this hard at a dumb joke
Steam came to my house and told me, in person, that he will never ask for my password. I told him to get the fuck off my property, that I don't have a Steam account and never will, and that I would be telling all my friends, family, and associates to only shop at the Epic Games Store, where they have video games for everyone.
>>736294167>ramjeet trying to figure out a new scam to set upyour IQ is showing shitskin

>>736294329But my email asks for my password to log in, retard.
>>736294167The fact that it allows me to log in when I put my password means that steam already knows my passwordThere's no privacy in this place
