ToD > ACiT

Tools of Destruction bored the shit out of me, but I was fully invested all throughout A Crack in Time. Probably ToD benefited from being an exciting new PS3 game so people were ready to ignore all the flaws, but by ACiT, they were just mad it wasn't the first one again.

Microsoft should fund some, they have the IPs

microslop should just disappear already

It also had hamsters and dinosaurs. CiT is worse for enemy variety in my opinion, you're fighting nefarious robots for like 3/4 of the game before it even starts throwing different enemy types at you, and even then there's only one Valkyrie planet and 2 (3 if you count the arena) Agorian planets.
>>
>>736296959
and ACIT only has Agorians and those robots

I really liked the Clank Puzzles in Crack in Time, I want a whole game of that

but did you like those dumb planet minigames?

They could have been better

or not existed at all

They're both awful, and where the franchise stopped being good.

for years I didn't understand why those games were objectively worse than the ps2 ones despite still being fun but it is actually very simple
>copypasted enemies in many planets (UYA was also guilty of this)
>many levels have side characters that never leave you alone and steal your kills
>again most levels only have 1 path
>longer/bloated planets, meaning even if playtime is the same there is less variety
>boring music
>most the edgy humor is gone
>you can buy everything the moment it is available
>the tryhard pixar-tier story
ToD should simply have been a combination of GC+UYA making it one of the absolute goat games, almost flawless but someone at Insomniac had other plans because with 2.5 years of dev time and no requirement of shoehorning an online mode, you can't tell me this wasn't possible

The game balance in Tools of Destruction is pretty bad. If you skip out on buying armor enemies start one-shotting you, some weapons do less damage with their entire ammo reserve than other weapons can do in a single shot, and the bolt multiplier on challenge mode is so overtuned you'll have like 500 billion bolts and all your weapons upgraded by the time you're halfway through the game. Like seriously you get millions of bolts from each fight it's wacky.

I THINK DR NEFARIOUS SUCKS!

It's weird how the charge boots in CiT just completely replace Clank as a movement ability for the rest of the series.
>High jump? what's that?
>Okay you can long jump, if you really want, but we're only going to design gaps around using the charge boots anyway

>>736309491
having ratchet be stuck to a clankpack when he has lots of other advanced gadgets to get around was kind of dumb anyway
>>
>>736309627
the game was called Ratchet AND Clank for a reason
>>
>>736310678
yeah and they gave clank more stuff to do than be a backpack
i do miss the big mecha levels for him though

sell me the whole collection on steam
