>>736304208That's just turn-based combat in general. The fun mostly comes from the grind and upgrading equipment, and the reason you stay is for the characters, story, setting, music. This is why nobody likes SMT. The games usually have the best turn-based combat of any game but that alone is not enough to make up for the usual lack of story and characters. That's why Persona took over and left SMT behind.
