The movie is constantly jumping from one problem to the next and never giving the movie or the audience a chance to breathe or process what's happening. That might work on dumb 3 year olds, but older kids will see right through that shit and be bored halfway through the film.

I have no idea what it would be like for people who don't know a single thing about Mario, but it's more or less reliant on fan service and references. But I mean what can you expect for a video game movie based on Mario? My main complaint was that Rosalina was underutilized and treated more as a macguffin.
