Thoughts?
>>736308654Of course it fucking won'tWho thought the Steam Machine was going to move 100 million units?
It wouldn't outsell it even at $99. Valve simply can't make enough of them.
>>736308654If PS6 is too expensive it'll flop as well. People are broke nowadays
>>736308654it might now that sony increased the price of the ps5
>>736308814This.The Deck might have already outsold the Switch 2, but Valve doesn't have the output Nintendo does. Even now, the Deck is out of stock due to limited production numbers.
>>736308654it won't outsell the OUYA
>>736308983You think the Steam Machine will be cheaper than the PS5 now?
>>736308654This is true and anyone saying otherwise is delusional
>>736308654shouldn't it be competing against the PS6 and Helix? It's like saying the Playstation 1 was competing against the Genesis
>>736308654why would any ps or xbox user want a steam machine? a whole new system to learn, most popular games are incompatable, and trouble shooting will be required. Basically anyone who wants to play a game for a few hours after work will have no interest in disrupting their routine.
>>736308654no shit most people already have a PC and the people buying a steam machine just want to emulate in the living room or play indie games.
>>736309019ah the old we weren't actually trying excuse
It won't outsell the damn Game Gear.
>>736308654of course not, have you seen steam deck sales? despite 'gaming' corners of the internet convincing people it's a big deal, the thing has been outsold massively by supposed 'flops' like the vita, wii u, even the piss portal - and absolutely dwarfed in sales by the more recent switch 2normals do not care about these neckbeard consoles, valve's demographic whether targeted or not - is mid 30's gamer dad's who will look at the steam machine and think >maybe i can buy that for my kids and family share my steam games to it to save some money on buying them a console with expensive games
>>736310357to be fair the steam deck is only sold on steam and not at walmart like the psvita and switch so small children cant easily ask thier parents to buy it.
The Steam Deck sold like 4 million units, which is pathetic for a "console"
>>736308654Playstations and Xboxes are just meant to be economical COD/Fortnite/sports/GTA machines. Steam is explicitly trying to leverage a hobbyist market of existing Steam users.Which is already a niche within a niche because your average Steam user plays 4 games a year.Steam machine will basically target the same market niche as the Steam Deck and other handheld PCs like the ROG Ally and its Xbox variant rather than try to be a mass market appeal device like the Switch 2 which is 100% dependent on Nintendo making games for it.
>>736308814>Valve simply can't make enough of them.Valve has to rely on inconstant production because they can't use mainstream parts due to cost. Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo make a contract for millions upon millions of a custom part for 5-7 years and produce finished products based on that. Gaben wants to just buy up whatever AMD want to firesale to get rid of and it'll always be a tiny volume until he properly commits.
>>736308654love the gabe cube but its weaker than the base ps5 that can't do fsr4.
>>736311016>Gaben wants to just buy up whatever AMD want to firesale to get rid of and it'll always be a tiny volume until he properly commits.nta, oh yea that's right. that's how the Steam Deck came to be, discarded amd zen 2 chips
I encourage everyone on /v/ to buy a Gabecube Day One and show it off to all the jealous haters.
