I enjoyed the time-based traveling/social aspect of it, but the archetype battle system felt half-baked. Persona did it better.

Neat concept that falls apart by the third act. It starts really well but becomes too formulaic and the last bit of the game is a chore to finish.I understand how difficult it would be to program but the ideal way to do this game would be to make your S.Links actually impact the main storyline throughout the story. Having certain characters die at certain points in the story if you hadn't gotten a certain S.Link or make missable content that is contingent on a character having certain abilities.In practice, S.Links are just powerups for your character but have no bearing on the story or the world. Making there be more out-of-combat incentives to interact with your party members and having choices that have real consequences or forcing strict time management to see everything in one playthrough would give players a greater feeling of satisfaction when they actually get those payoffs. Time management stuff should never be easier than Persona 4 (vanilla) and without using a guide it should be extremely difficult to finish everything (or even 90% of things) without NG+.
