Live action for zelda is a horrible idea. I'm baffled JP companies keep letting Hollywood or Netflix create live action shows or movies that just bastardize the original product.

disregarding OP premise because it's reactionary, alarmist and gay and replying to the OP subject instead

I've actually been on a big Metroid kick that started out as a Castlevania kick. I went from Chronicles of the Wolf to Lecarde Chronicles 2 to Metroid Dread to Zero Mission to Super and now I'm on Metroid Prime. The first three were blind playthroughs, the latter three are replays that have been long enough that they feel mostly fresh.

The 2D metroidvanias were always good to play in chunks, make a bit of progress, nestle in a spot where I'd opened up headway to make smooth continuous progress, pick it back up and repeat. Prime, I actively don't want to put it down. I'll play to a spot that seems good but then just want to keep going. It's a marvel, how it's a game that really doesn't deviate overmuch from the standard Metroid mold, just in 3D (while you could make arguments that the second game is better, I think it's safe to say it deviates considerably more)--but it's so fucking huge. I mean, ZM? 3 and a half hours mostly blind. Short as shit. SM, just shy of 6 hours. Nothing crazy, I'd consider that around average for a straight runthrough of one of these games. Meanwhile, I'm at about that same length of play in Prime but I'm a little shy of halfway through. And--wait hold on a sec

meds

anyway, it's a remarkable game. It was crazy when it launched, nobody wanted "FPS" Metroid. Everyone was skeptical. Nobody knew this studio. But they knocked it out of the fucking park.
>>
There's no way in fucking hell they'd ever do a Metroid movie. Ever. Significantly more popular franchises have bombed at the box office, Metroid would be a power bomb.

correct. Instead we will get the FIRE EMBLEM movie.
In a way it's ironic that they wouldn't make a metroid movie when it should be much easier to create a fun adventure with a space bounty hunter than trying to force mario or zelda into movies.
>>
I have zero desire whatsoever for a Metroid movie.
>>
I honestly don't know what a Metroid movie could be about, just an adaptation of the manga? Metroid fans only want to see Samus killing aliens and collecting upgrades without speaking, but that is not material for a movie
>>
>>736336507
I've never finished the one metroid game I've played in my life, but it really shouldn't be hard to write a simple adventure plot around a space bounty hunter.
Worst case scenario it probably turns out to be another guardians of the galaxy clone.
>>
>>736336456
Because Metroid is not a fun adventure with a space bounty hunter.
it's a game where you slowly walk around a planet, picking up artifacts, with as few dialogue interruptions as possible.
Basically every other Nintendo franchise works better as a movie than Metroid.
Starfox, sure. F-Zero and Kid Icarus, sure. Splatoon, sure. Pikmin, potentially. Fire Emblem or Xenoblade as animes, sure.

it's been a while since we got a really good fantasy movie and everything they're doing with Tolkien's work is awful. I'll give them a chance.

oh no trannies are angry that people notice what trannies have been doing to every franchise for 25 straight years
that must be really hard for you because you can't steal from companies anymore :)

Even as an impatient person, I managed to get through Metroid on SNES, you should give it a chance, it hooks you in and has a great OST

the first Zelda trailer should use Riddle of Steel again

Imagine the autism if they make Samus black.
That would be the breaking point, people will die.

Metroid has no business being a Guardians of the Galaxy clone.

The Hollywood and netflix adaptations don't give them permanent rights, they get a shitload of money for loaning the IP, and if it does well they can flex on the strength of the brand, while if it's bad (which it will be), they can say Western adaptations are shit as usual.
