At first glance it looks like a bamham clone, but the feel and inputs are much more similar to CAGs. Enemies all attack you without waiting for other enemies, ie there's no enemy group attack queueing. There's no counter warnings or heavy magnetism either.But it's pretty easy, enemies doesn't do much damage at all and you have easy access to limitless healing, so it's more like a casual combat sandbox than a structured challenge.It's very fun to explore the possibilities, I've spent the last sessions just raiding camps and comparing weapon setups /combos.

These games are too long for what they are imo, the execution gets repetitive too quickly. There's a reason beat em ups are only like 30 minutes long. There is not enough to differentiate navigating levels in a meaningful way, with games resorting to shit like spinning tops around or block puzzles to pad things out, or having rhythm game segments that don't scale with difficulty. All of these things are objectively bad. God Hand is great because it has really unique and involved routing, even if the combat is a little one note, because how you approach encounters changes and requires specific set ups. DMC5 improved a little by breaking the game up into different characters, but that feels a bit lazy and doesn't address the main issue imo, it's more like a cheap workaround. The main audience for this game is also not playing for rank either, these games are clearly designed for retards.
