Why is the SH2 remake so underrated in terms of being an actual survival horror game? On Hard mode, the enemies are incredibly deadly while resources are very scarce, and entering the wrong room can quickly spell your death.

Playing on easy now and there's quite a difference even with the ai, enemies are much less aggressive on easy.Game really shines when you're in claustrophobic environments with your dim light that can only see about five feet away. You can lose sight of enemies as you're ducking and weaving around each other which makes for some intense fights.In retrospect I also found it more intense and scary than SHf. SHf is theoretically scarier with only only melee weapons but I never had trepidation playing that game as the enemies are handicapped, particularly in engagement speed, as they're designed around pure melee combat. Generally felt less claustrophobic, with one throwaway ambush in the woods after you pick up a key as the only time my heart rate increased.Digressing. SHf I did like the actual collision in melee combat over the magnetized combat of SH2r, but I do love stomping on STUPID FUCKING WHORES after they're downed.

the remake was probably the only time ive ever felt genuine fear navigating the levels of a game its just a shame that the game went on for sooo long and i was just getting frustrated by the end and wanted it to be over.
