IMO where RD excels is the scale of it as well as the novelty of all the returning characters and the manner in which they return. Honestly the plot is kinda retarded, but the chapters themselves are kino for the most part. If you hadn't played PoR beforehand you'd probably think it was the worst game in the series.
Part 1:

I wish I could go back and play RD for the first time... Hunting By Daybreak is my favourite chapter in the entire series for a similar reason. Fantastic narrative/gameplay integratrion

fe4's story sucks, but I enjoyed the gameplay enough to replay it multiple times
