Why did they never make a third Zelda game?
The third one more closely resembles the first, unless you mean another complete upheaval of conventions, in which case the third entry could be Breath of the Wild, or even charitably Ocarina of Time.

They were working on a NES Zelda 3.Not much is known about it, but from what little info we got it was going to be top-down again, and likely a lot of it got carried over to ALTTP.
