>game announced in 2020>6 years go by>only now entering alpha test phaseWhat's with games taking so long to make these days?
>>736343012Skill issue.SE will put out the entire FF7 remake trilogy in 7 years when it comes out next year.
>>736343012rookie numbers. it's been a decade since the latest Elders Scrolls was announced.
>>736343260>The Elder Scrolls VI was officially announced by Bethesda in June 2018We are now in June 2028. Crazy to think about. Feels like the last 2 years just disappeared.
>>736343012Back in 90-s people were making 3 games in span of 8 years. Two years cycle was normal. The only thing that changed much is graphics so it must be that. Urine engine is not helping with that, in fact, it make things worse by opening gamedev to millions of indians.
>>736343260What the fuck
>>736343012there is unironically a competency crisis in the west
>>736343012State of Decay always scratched a specific itch for me, I hope this is actually good.
>>736343012Apparently it didn't actually enter dev by then and was announced too early.
>>736344282Right, according to State of Decay 2's steam news they were even still doing updates and new content up to 2024.
>>736343195What? It was revealed 11 fucking years ago bro and they started development even before that.
>>736343012>6 years is a long timeLiterally normal dev time for almost every big game you dingus. Its abnormal if its less than 3 years or over 10.
>>736343012Test
Everyone is an ugly mutt
Xbox is hard evidence that throwing unlimited time and money at something doesn't make it good. So cross "crunch" and low budget off the list.
>>736343012>DEIslopNah.Also fuck schizo rival neighbours.
>>736343012>Microsoft Game Studios slave companies taking a billion years to make another 6/10 game.A tale as old as time.
I wonder if the anons played survivalist invisible strain or made them look it up
>>736346091I just did what everyone else did which is watch content of it and go "this seems cool but janky as hell" and then never played it.
>>736346124alright fair enough..
>>736343012lazy ass devs
>>736343317man it feels like 2026 was just yesterday
>>736343012>open world zombie survival game in 2026
>>736343012Survivalist: Invisible Strain and Urban Strife filled the void of managing a survivor community in a zombie apocalypse for me. Also (the absolute) State of Decay 2 was good, but it showed where their priorities were: they added more spectacle instead of fleshing out community management. The 3rd will probably be the same.
>>736343012>What's with games taking so long to make these days?Because modern games are more complex than uncslop with 1 pixel jumping around on platforms.
>>736343012This game was likely rebooted several times during development and Asha told them to get this shit released or they'll be the next studio that gets closed.
>>736343012>What's with games taking so long to make these days?
>niggerhard pass
>>736346559LMAO
*ROARS*
>>736343012you have people crying about "stolen assets" if some dev uses and asset pack for fucking trees, no wonder it takes forever to make these games, only chance you have is make low poly shit for hipsters.
>>736346091 I played the absolute shit out of it a couple of months back before dropping off. Trying to balance the guns to not be retarded was like pulling teeth. Jumping between different maps as a trader/murderhobo was cool, Solo ends up being a lot easier to manage once you understand how the mechanics work. Becomes a very comfy game just going innawoods in the middle of winter selling your surplus to the various communities for stuff that you can't normally forage.
