Are there any fun online card games that play similar to Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon TCG that have a large, non-tryhard playerbase and aren’t pay to win?

No?

um okay
are you sure?

No. Online gaming with strangers filters out the casuals and leaves only a competitive audience of meta players remaining. If you want a large playerbase with a variety of decks to play against, reconsider if you actually care about a large playerbase and find a group of friends to try out off-meta things with IRL.

Is this the thread?

Every online game is tryhard. It's inherent to the thing. People try to win when playing against other people.

Okay, but I mainly meant people who don’t go apeshit when things don’t go their way during a game.

every online card game is a fun online card game if you enjoy it

I used to do betting ERP with my lewd friends. We'd bet whatever scenarios we were interested in at the time and the winner of a best of 3 got to pick the scene.
