i readed the first part of the VN that corresponds to the first 3 episodes of the anime. it took me 10 hours desu.

I finished reading it 3 days ago.I had a hard time getting through the "comedy" sections in ep 1 and 2, and I felt like some of the jokes later on about Irie being a pedo and stuff were just plain unfunny. That being said I felt eps 1-6 were overall quite good. 7 and 8 I did not enjoy a lot and was happy when they were done. I also kind of was hoping it would stick with being horror but it felt like post ep 2 the horror was toned down although still quite good in 3, then completely abandoned after that. I guess I shouldnt have expected it to stick to the horror considering Umineko cant stick to being a mystery either.

The problem is the way they are written just feels awful. They dont feel like remotely real people during them. I think the lighthearted stuff is needed it just needed to be executed better.

>>736351134I think Shion and Rena schizomaxxing in Chapters 5 and 6 was better than most of the stuff in the Question Arcs. Umineko is way worse imo, only Episodes 1 and 2 have actual interesting murder mysteries. By the time you get to Episode 4 there's not even an attempt to create interesting murders and it just full on 2 deep 4 u exposition dumps from there on.
