There have been more leaks about the supposed upcoming Star Fox game that say the writing will be more comedic. If they manage something like Kid Icarus Uprising I think it would be very fun. Conflicts and ideas start, finish and move on to the next in what feels like 5 minutes intervals and it happens consistently all throughout the movie and I hated the "twist" regarding Peach backstory and I hope it's not canon. I did like Fox though, I liked the Rob bit and I liked seeing Mr. Game and Watch even though it was just another very brief cameo, but there was too much shit going on. I also liked how the portrayed the NES Bowser castle level and The Yoshi's Island reference during the scene where Yoshi encounters the dinosaurs. It was just Nintendo throwing in a bunch of characters, musical motifs and visual references to the games with scenes whether the camera spinning around all the time and choreographed action that you could never let seap in because it was all too fast and hectic. It's the most ADHD shit I've seen, but then again I don't use TikTok or hang out on social media all the time, so many my mind isn't used to this. Also it felt like the characters barely interacted with each other and they basically had no substantive dialogue at all. I'm not asking for A-list writing at all or even D-list and I wouldn't ever expect that from a video game movie. Especially not a Mario movie. But this was way too much, the pacing way terrible and there's no reason to watch this a second time. Also it's not like Super Mario Galaxy the game at all and their final destination Space Junk Galaxy wasn't at all what it was supposed to be based on the literal game's on context I think everyone already knew it wasn't going to be a Super Mario Galaxy adaptation going in, but still.
