Is it fun? Asking for a friend.
>>736356808Care bears are still around? After all these years?
>>736356987The ending credits song of the second movie hard carried the franchise to this day.
>>736357101There's a movie? There's 2 of them? I only vaguely remember watching an old cartoon in the late 90s early 2000s, when I was like 4 or 5. I haven't really kept up with the franchise
>nubearsfuck no, they don't even save children and fight satan anymore.
>>736357197They got 2 specials2 different series and 3 movies during the 80s.None of them are worth watching. The two first movies had oddly demonic villains.
>>736356987Its one of those franchises that exists in the collective cultural consciousness and gets rebooted every 10-15 years. Like TMNT, Garfield, Alvin and the Chipmunks, or Scooby Doo.
>>736357432Perhaps Care Bears could get a series like Velma then.
>>736356987I always assumed care bears was one of those things like hello kitty where they ostensibly have a story and personalities but really nobody actually gives a shit and it's 100% just about making marketable plushies and t-shirtsI really don't know how to describe why that's different from any other merchandise-driven franchises like pokemon for example but you can just feel it in the air around them. strawberry shortcake also comes to mindeither way I have zero knowledge of care bears other than that they used to air one of the shows on TV before church when I was a kid and I watched it despite thinking it was lame just cause it had a cute evil girl
Reminder that Care bears and the Smurfs are now canon in the Sonic the hedgehog universe
>>736358123That means Sega is ready for a AoStH/Care Bears crossover.
>>736357432I'm kind of surprised because I don't associate the series with anything but the original thing from the early 80s, and it never occurred to me they were doing anything with it.
>>736358356You sure it was the original series. That one is less known and doesn't have the lion and that shit.
>>736358415Yep. We're talking like 1983(maybe 1982?), when it was just a couple one-off things before the main cartoon started. I guess technically I lump those with the cartoon, so kinda.
>>736358742The villain design sucked in that version.
>>736356808Look at this slut
>>736359045/v/ would literally fuck anything that looks harmless and soft
>>736357727Care Bears are like Barney (please don't bring up Lee), their target demographic was too young to justify such IP expansion. Yes, a lot of people had the plushies when they were barely sentient beings and some mom out there liked the art they would put on overpriced birthday cards well enough, but I guess you needed way more than your average dose of autism to give a crap about them as characters I mean, with Smurfs, Strawberry Shortcake and early MLP i would still picture them going on adventures or having some slice of life conflict. But the care bears? I can only picture them sitting their fat asses on the clouds all day and posing for calendar pictures. What do they even again? They defeat evil by shooting gay beans that solve everything, except when they can't and they have to beg the audience to "care"? Are they asking me to pray the problem away? This is worse than Captain planet who gets weak when they throw mud at him
>>736359474They fight demons in the movies.
>>736359238we literally have a board for that
>>736356808God I love plushies so much
>>736359667yeah /v/
>>736359809Surely you are jesting
>>736360201If Care Bears was an anime like My Melody /v/ would take it seriously.
>>736360263nobody takes my melody seriously, they just wanna plap kuromi
