In the original RE4 reloading had more depth due to not being able to move AND not being able to move the camera. It created a tense choice where you had to pick between staying your ground to reload, or reposition and lose sight of all your enemies. Either way, there were pros and cons to consider.

In the remake the answer is always to move while reloading and keep the camera aimed at the enemies. It lost the depth of the original just to appeal to modern trends.

The remake is a lot harder because enemy agression and speed is upped like 3 times, staggers are harder to do and you can get stagger locked yourself.
OG is ultra easy in comparison.

The remake makes the original completely obsolete. If you are only going to play one version, absolutely do play the remake.

Case in point: schizos are pointing to obsolete, outdated and annoying mechanics that serve no purpose like not being able to reload while moving as a good thing. Yet the remake managed to remove this annoying part AND still make the game extremely fun and challenging.

There are 0 arguments for playing the original now that the remake exists.
