>Grasshopper Manufacture was founded in 1998>its best game came out in 2005Why did they peak so early?
I have that on my Wii U, playable just with the Gamepad. Here's the good part: I have not played it, and I never will.
>>736362860what's so good about it anyway?

Killer7 and No More Heroes were the first Grasshopper games created for Nintendo home consoles
>>736362860Their best game came out in 1999, actually.

Suda was already like 3 games deep into writing and making his own games. And that era had that level of fidelity hits that sweet spot of risk where you could make a decent stylish looking game based on just a good idea in 1-3 years. Cheap,stylish,9/11
They knew what they wanted to do with the funding
>>736362860I think the game under-performing got under Suda's skin. And made him care less about try-harding with dense postmodern storytelling. Think back to NMH1's intro:>I know a lot of gamers out there don't have much patience...>How's that, short and simple enough for ya?!>IT'S GAME TIMEIt's sour grapes about what he was trying to do going mostly unappreciated. I think NMH and part of Travis' character is a direct response to North American "Raiden is Gay" type gamers from the time.
>>736362860killer7 is 90s incarnateWith just a smidge of 9/11 in there
