>Grasshopper Manufacture was founded in 1998
>its best game came out in 2005
Why did they peak so early?
>>
I have that on my Wii U, playable just with the Gamepad.
Here's the good part: I have not played it, and I never will.

what's so good about it anyway?
>>
Suda just did it
And then he made no more heroes
And then the spark was gone

music
it looks cool as fuck
every sentence is quotable
(mostly) unique gameplay
it’s just the right length
>>
Killer7 and No More Heroes were the first Grasshopper games created for Nintendo home consoles

grasshopper's best game was contact, you fucking philistine tertiary

>philistine
REAPER REAPER THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE CALL ME
WHY
>>
Suda was already like 3 games deep into writing and making his own games. And that era had that level of fidelity hits that sweet spot of risk where you could make a decent stylish looking game based on just a good idea in 1-3 years. Cheap,stylish,9/11
>>
They knew what they wanted to do with the funding

I think the game under-performing got under Suda's skin. And made him care less about try-harding with dense postmodern storytelling. Think back to NMH1's intro:
>I know a lot of gamers out there don't have much patience...
>How's that, short and simple enough for ya?!
>IT'S GAME TIME
It's sour grapes about what he was trying to do going mostly unappreciated. I think NMH and part of Travis' character is a direct response to North American "Raiden is Gay" type gamers from the time.

killer7 is 90s incarnate

With just a smidge of 9/11 in there
