i dropped the game here
>>736363805Poshanka status?
>>736363805All you have to do is hug the upper corners of the arena, their jump attacks' hitboxes won't ever reach you. Weird strat but it works every time
>>736363805How did you drop the game? You didn't hold it in your hands
>>736363805I beat this first try without either npc
You didn't really miss anything
>>736363805They're not even that hard bro
>>736364020Honestly, yeah. Silksong's quality is so frontloaded. Widow shouldn't be the best of the main story bosses
I dropped the tacks here
>>736363805Weak. That to be said, this shit is the most difficult fight in the game iirc. I also had problems with coral tower. Ant queen most likely the harder boss, but she is so kino that I didn't midn it for a second
>>736363958steamdeck
>>736363805I dont understand why people like metroidvanias so much. The only ones i ever enjoyed was super metroid and axiom verge. Every other one has been an absolute slog. If i want hard 2d action i would much much rather play stuff like the ninja gaiden games on nes rather than hollow knight. There is just so much useless fluff and padding in these games and navigating metroidvania worlds is almost always boring as fuck so it doesnt add anything
thats funny because I thought this gauntlet was actually one of the fairer and probably the most fun one in the game, especially because I only had 1 mask left while fighting the final two guys so it was what the kids used to call a "PogChampion" moment.you should only be crying about the optional deep docks gauntlet.
>>736364238What a pathetic final boss
>>736364238Didn't know the dice also worked on the black sludge damage
>>736364176Absolutely based and true, ant queen was the boss who kept me down for around 4 hours, but her song and fight are so kino, I even broke down every action I took onto a word file so I could make every moment take as little time as possible when killing the preboss gauntlet. I thought it was cool as hell. I didn't like the Nyleth fight personally, but only because I had been so used to using Hunter and Wanderer crest, didn't realize how easy the fight was with Reaper down air. Interestingly enough, Seth caused me no issues, not only was his fight fun but I also beat him the first time.
>>736363958Dropped on the ground
>>736364317The problem with stuff like HK and other games that take inspiration from the souls series is they're trying to be difficult in a genre that doesn't need it.Metroidvanias are about the exploration and anything that inhibits that is poor design, sure there should be a challenge there but like you said there's action titles if you want some ball busting fights
>>736364320>TRVKEThe gauntlets that people seethe the most about in this game are like nowhere as tedious as OG HK or some of the other optional gauntlets in Silksong. High Halls has THREE avenues to make ske the fight easier (Shakra, Garmond and the Clawmaiden room). While Coral Tower had the shortcut after the 3rd avenue + allowing for infinite tool spam as your shards don't deplete in the dream world. Compare that to Trial of the Fools where it's basically y a 10-15 minute slog with no checkpoints with fuck-you timewaster enemies like the Mawlek and Volt Twisters
>>736366142Metroidvanias have always meant to be hard. It's just that the target demographic shifts. A 10 year old playing Super Metroid for the first time (aka the target demo), blind, no guides, is going to die a bunch. A kid playing Mega Man for the first time ever is going to die a bunch. When games up the difficulty ante, they're trying to recapture that feeling. The feeling of playing a new game for the first time ever instead of looping your 500th run of Super Metroid after you've had it memorized for 20 years.
>>736363805Dropped it at Bilewater cause of burnout, that boss though I liked. I'm just not very good so I have to rely on bombs for difficult gauntlets, it feels like cheating.
>day 212 of /v/ crying that silksong is too hard
>>736364238it's ridiculous how good wanderer face tanking really is honestly.
>>736367220I felt it was so much easier than Hollow Knight. Not sure why faggots have been ceying its harder. Even the Mt. Faye climb wasnt as bad as the white palace. In fact none of the jumping segments even come close to the white palace. I guess skill issue
>>736363805Don't worry, I picked it up right there for you.
>>736364238It's beautiful and hideous at the same time
>>736363805Lucky bastard
>>736367567But White Palace was easy, it's like Super Mario World tier platforming.
>>736363805I don't remember this part. Just started act 3 last night. It's it coming up soon? Tips?
>>736368194It's from act 2...
>>736368194How did you forget? It's an Act 2 gauntlet and required to beat the game with any ending.
>>736363805>First playthrough, have a tough time on the High Halls gauntlet>Second playthrough, doing much better>Third playthrough (Steel Soul), invite Shakra because why not, kill every enemy just about instantly because I know them like the back of my hand, Shakra barely helps in The Forum (proper term), leave hungry for more
>>736363805What's funny is that the worst parts of the game are infinitely easier if you just happen to grind out the rest of the map first, like fishing Shakra's quest or leveling up over-powered tools. But you have no way of knowing what you should finish now, and what you should bounce off of and save for later. So it's easy to get burnt out on the entire fucking game because you threw yourself at something like Bilewater over and over again without knowing that there's a tool that completely mitigates the worst parts of it. So I beat most of the worst gank fights of the game on my first try, but still poisoned my attitude on the overall game wasting hours of runbacks on bosses like Groal.
>reach this part, beat it on my first try (and apparently it can be easier when you do sidequests)>normalfag friend tries it>takes literally three 2 hour sessions to beat them>look at his character>no double jump, two masks fewer than me, missing a needle upgradeI now understand why everyone thinks this game is hard
>>736368363They're just quick little events that last a minute or two to add some variation to rooms. Its all the same enemies I've fought in rooms before. Unless there's a boss or something mixed in, I don't know why I would remember them.
>>736368732can you remember what did you eat this entire week?
>>736363805sweatysong really is the perfect amalgamation of everything wrong with modern gaming: artifically hyped, artificially difficult ragebait game made for streamers to play the same stage for hours straight while reading donations, I hope team cherry goes under.
>>736368732It's literally the only place in the game to fight Choir Clappers, who are the minibosses that give the most trouble to people in this gauntlet.
>>736368870Absolute senen slurping take. A pepe poster that got filtered has no room here faggot
>>736367668POSHANKA
>>736363805Took me 3 tries I think. Could have found a damage upgrade before had I gone to the Vaults.
>>736364772Looks cozy but you're letting all the bugs into the house with that door open.
>>736368732It's like a 10 round gauntlet you have to do before you get one of the songs.
>>736368851Yes, but I make eat the same smoothie every morning, eat the same lunch every day at work, and make the same meal for almost every weekday. It's very easy to figure out. >>736368872Maybe they just weren't very good bosses. I don't know. I was thinking maybe it was the one in the high halls, but this picture>>736367668Shows Shaka helping, and I'm pretty sure it was the calvary guy that was available there.
>>736369261>Yes, but I make eat the same smoothie every morning, eat the same lunch every day at work, and make the same meal for almost every weekdayI want to do this but I live with my parents at 32
>>736369261You can get to that gauntlet with Shakra, Garamond, or no help at all. It depends on what else you've been up to.
>>736369261>I was thinking maybe it was the one in the high hallsIt IS the one in the high halls. If you duel Garmond above the archives he'll offer to help. If you complete Shakra's questline she'll offer to help. Shakra takes priority over Garmond.
>>736368546Hahaha, yeah imagine clearing Bilewater before finding the anti-maggot wreath haha...
>>736369387>>736369523Mystery solved then. I didn't get Shaka because I was built like this guy: >>736368548I didn't realize how much more there was to explore until after the first credit roll. Off the top of my head I hadn't done the archives area (where the stage performer boss fight was), bile water, the area with the ghosts, Mt fey, memoriam, putrified ducts... probably more.
>>736367567Its way easier than HK once you get used to the games mechanics, its a decently sized departure from the original. I struggled a bit for the first act but id say by the time I hit Mt Fay I had become a murder machine, only bosses that took me more than 2 tries were Groal and the final boss
>>736369784>>736368546That's pretty easy to imagine. Because I did it. I think the way things are arranged/sequenced suggest that you aren't intended to have it, so that's probably most people's experience.
>>736367668I die in High Halls more with Shakra than without. She makes it so much harder. My brain cannot keep track of who's who when she's instant trasmissioning all across the room every second
>>736371489This is a real problem, I just lose focus and get hit if she's there
>>736363805The moment Shakra joined me, I just fell in love with the game even more. But to be honest, I would have liked to do it solo. I really like the enemy gauntlets. I am confident I would have handled it fine even if I had done it solo.
>>736368546I've seen so many people wander into Groal's arena super early, then assume that they HAVE to beat him then and there. The devs have stated multiple times that they designed the game with this "you can lave and come back later when you're stronger" concept, but more often than not, that's lost on people because the game is challenging and has set their expectations up for failure.
>>736374098To be fair, the further you get into the game the less options you have to choose a blatantly "easy" area by comparison. Trying to ignore an entire shitty area is different from ignoring a random optional dreamnail boss like the first game had.
