>This is my family's sacred sword and my most treasured possession. Its been passed down for generations.
Worse than current weapon, immediately sell for 300 gold.

way to make vendors useless

Theres so many times in games like these where ill instantly just drop whatever garbage they give me on the ground because its not even worth walking to sell it
>>
>>736366624
Cyberpunk has the exact same problem.
Pisses me off that the guns I get in hour 3 are somehow better than the guns I get in hour 53

Eastern European games seem to be cursed with this issue. Something about Slavic blood compels these devs to fill their games with mundane and low value garbage that they expect players to loot and collect obsessively.
>>
W3 has the problem that story and gameplay are totally disconnected, leveled loot, enemies and quests are totally retarded.
In CP2077 you can atleast head canon it, but there is no way to explain a lvl 40 drowner.

Masters at side quest plots. Highpoint of CP2077 to me was the mayor brainwashing quest. Crazy good story that I think about from time to time just dropped into the middle of it all.
>>
>>736367136
I think the best weapons in the game are just randomly hidden in obscure parts of the map. My biggest annoyance is all the shit tier 5 weapons that you cant sell or break down.

You get like 6 katanas and you cant do anything with them

Kek, exactly this.

that's a fucking lie, take that back
all games do this crap, this has nothing to do with slavs
>>
>>736367740
Games should do more side quests where at the end youre confused what just happened and then its never explained.

A quest in a game like the scene from Malcolm in the middle where the dad gets tested for a bunch of random shit and the next day the building is somehow gone would be great.
>>
>>736366624
It's even funnier when you consider that lore wise Geralt is supposed to be poor as fuck, barely making enough money to maintain his equipment.

same, it's probably the best quest of any game I've played

It's not Geralt's fault that RPG protagonists have to upgrade their equipment like Apple customers. "Oh wow, the iSword 26 XL3N is out?! I know I just bought the iSword 26 XL3M ten minutes ago, but this one has 0.3% more damage and 0.2% more camera megapixels! I have to have it!"

I cant even begin to comprehend why games do this? I figure its a MMO skinner box thing. Ruined .hack for me, ruined strangers of paradise. Its such and awful mechanic especially comming from BG where you'd have an orgasim finding a +2 sword.
>>
>>736366936
Has there ever been an RPG where the weapon you get like that is genuinely amazing? And I don't mean right before the final boss or something.

Silver weapons in BoF 3 are a pain to get but than are OP for the next hour in a grindy game.
Its also not what you are refering to but you can use the airship to get ridiculiosly expensive endgame weapons in FF1.
>>
Yeah. W3's economy was broken. The nonsensical economy was a byproduct of foisting in that crafting system and being able to loot everything. like, Witcher 1 economy was more grounded because Geralt rarely picked any shit up from what I remember. Most of your money you got by playing dice.
