My first cheese as I figured if you ducked in the corner and stabbed this boss everyone complusned about was super easy. Buddy came over to drink at 22 and forced me to play it on the game cube. I remember throughly enjoying that run. It does have the best setting with all the different towns and magic. Heard it described as a good nes game, shitty Zelda which I think is fair. Though I rank it over TotK as I actually wanted to beat this.

It's well designed, and there are mods that make the experience easier to get into if you're having a tough time (like those that let you begin at the start of a dungeon at game over).Combat is great, spells are fun, dungeons are a highlight, boss-fights are rad, enemies are varied, the level-up system isn't obnoxious either. It's a fine alternative to Castlevania of that era. This is a meme at this point, but you can absolutely see how 3D games like OOT or DS evolved from a title like Zelda 2.

>>736370541Not even close. Zelda 2 isn't a gem, I give it a 7, but it is pretty fun once you actually understand how to properly approach fighting the monsters and stop taking stupid risks. The main problems with 2 is simply the run backs after dying and the EXP grind if you aren't efficient with the gems at the end of the dungeons. Once you aren't having to deal with trying to grind 9k exp for the final levels, things get much better.
