the baby marsupilami gets the resolve to fight towards the end thanks to the kid being a fan of goku and showing the marsu tons of dragon ball drawing and explaining how cool goku is. the baby imitate a super saiyan and goku, with legally distinct dragon ball music to defeat the bad guy

Exactly.
The studio was tasked to do a game with the marsipulami IP, and because some of the devs are nintendo fans, they made a game similar to DKC returns. I think their smurf gameis also similar to Mario 3D World but I haven't played it yet.
