Why haven't you moved to tabletop games? Be board games, card games, CCGs, RPGs or wargames, you have an infinite universe to explore.
Videogames no only can't compare but they can't offer anything of value anymore.

I have no friends so board games are a nonstarter. I would be on /tg/ and not this board if I cared about tabletop games.

because finding people to play with is pure cancer either as a player or as a GM
>>
>>736374672
I play a riichi city alternative myself
>>
>>736374672
I hate interacting with people.
>>
>>736374672
You're expected to be decent at socialization. Most anons on this board either hate interacting with people or are too unstable to befriend anyone.
>>
>>736374672
Because most board games can be played online with easier support for fan expansions.

I wish I could
Fags are still stuck on mtg ygo and pokemon

Boardgames are expensive it you want the good stuff. Lucky for me a friend likes buying them.
Boardgames are really nice for some much needed IRL stuff, especially if you also eat dinner and then keep playing.
>>
>>736374672
I do prefer tabletop games when I can get a group of friends together for them, but that isn't always an option.

Those usually demand people to play with, and i'm socially inept.

A (female) fren of mine is a huge Cyberpunk 2077/Edgerunners "Stan" but whenever I ask her if she wants to play Cyberpunk 2020 she refused telling me "I don't have time for tabletop games", yet I see her all the time on Steam playing The Sims 4, I'm still not sure if she thought that I was trying to date her or if she really doesn't wanna get into the source material.

Then play games with solo modes.
>>
>>736374672
I already play tabletop games. Only with friends though.

I used to love playing tabletop games. D&D, MTG, board games, the lot. But then I moved away and never bothered to make new friends so now I just amuse myself with my computer. I tend to prefer light fluffy games that work well for sitting around drinking and bullshitting though, and MTG nearly 30 years ago qualified but with how it is now I'm not sure it would. I was/am a big fan of Elder Sign since it's basically just co-op Yahtzee

>>736374672
PC gaming is way cheaper than board games. I never knew plastic and cardboard can be that expensive. Also, no one around me is interested at playing board games, since they see them as kids toy in general.
>>
>>736374672
I've played them, I have over 400 hours on tabletop simulator.
It's very hard to play anything but the most mainstream of games and if you want to play any long ass campaign games it's better to just play solo. Unless you have FRIENDS.
And I did have some friends to play some games but never a long campaign or games with more than 10 pages in its rulebook. It's just not that appealing to most people.

Just the other day I even thought of using AI to play with me but man I already know I'll have trouble making them remember a hundred page rulebook for every single move.

I've got 700+ hours on Tabletop Simulator and that's all solo boardgaming
>>
Last time I ran a game only two people out of five could show up consistently even though everyone totally had sundays free so I basically just started winging everything and it felt very halfassed on my end
>>

the smell
>>
>>736374672
Because they all suck.
I wish I could buy a giant pre-populatted DnD map and have a plast playing solo and exploring.
But the nb of games like that is small and they each cost like 200$ each for no fucking reason...

Story of my fucking life, when I was playing tabletop with some friends it was extremely tough to get even 50% of the group in the room any time we played. Then we got some new person who was extremely autistic in an annoying as fuck redditor way and I just stopped showing up myself
>>
>>736374672
Every time I play terraforming and I get some tree cards I win

Women. Can't game with em, can't game without em.

MTG has completely lost the plot. Outside the woke stuff there's reprints and weird themes. If I played I would buy cheap pirated cards if I didn't just print them myself.
D&D had also completely lost the plot, luckily it should be possible to print out old rulesets and scenarios.

i like board games but hate anything with roleplaying. it quickly degrades into chungus quirky lolsorandom shit. like everyone becomes either deadpool or harley quinn.

It's the complete opposite retard
>>
>>736374672
Because they're prohibitively expensive.
>>
>>736374672
You try getting five nerds in the same room at the same time. It's not as easy as you'd think.

Recently started MTG because of the Final Fantasy decks. Pretty fun. Nice to have money to afford them.

If it involves other people in any way, shape of form I have no interest.

I tried playing a single player tabletop game and it was insanely boring
>>
>>736402665
Try good games instead of kiddy furry shit
>>
>>736374672
recommend single player tabletop games/solitaires or im out
>>
I'm tired of learning all these fkin games
can we just play and learn one game
>>
>>736381010
What can a solo board game offer me that a single player video game cant
>>
>>736378284
this is just a reskin of Bang!
>>
Do you prefer draft or standard TFM?
>>
>>736374672
board games can't be anywhere near as complex as a video game due to the limitations of making the players do everything.
>>
sometimes simple elegance > complexity
