Gonna sound crazy but industry is doing alright
it's more of course correction than crash
200 mil games aren't sustainable
>>
stonetoss kinda missed with this one, i fear
>>
>>736375009
this, the only shit that's dying is overpriced bloated AAAslop designed by karens and trannies. AA and indie is thriving.
>>
>>736375173
Even euro and Jap AAA is doing well
it's the murican retards
>>
>>736375254

>crimson desert succeeds
>resident evil reqieum succeeds
>gta6 will probably succeed too
chuddahs not having a good track record right now. everything they want to flop simply doesn't.
>>
>>736375351
Square chased after all the bad habits of western games while retaining their already retarded development.
>>
>>736375351
they have been for a while now

Spiritually American (overtly corporate and bloated)

>WAHHH I CAN'T ENJOY NOR BUY GAME BECOS YOU WONT STOP TALKING ABOUT GAME
>THE 3BI DOLLAR FLOP DIDN'T ACTUALLY FLOP AND IS IRRELEVANT
>IT HAPPENED A VERY A LONG TIME AGO (2 WEEKS) WHY ARE YOU STILL TALKING ABOUT IT WTF?!
>>

I don't care if they flop.
>>

Chuddha should unfollow Mangalawyer so he won't be tempted by the fleshly pleasure of claiming non-intervention on a AAA crash
>>
>>736375009
Part of the industry are definitely not okay but course correction seems about right. Ubisoft is practically a dead company now, anything of worth is being consolidated into a Tencent studio. I think AAA games will only continue to get worse with AI tools and unrealification though.

Not a single game I have ever been interested in has ever been permanently cancelled. Only thing I can think of are mods derailed by health issues effecting the modders which is completely understandable. If you have even a smidgen of good taste the games you enjoy will also coincide with financial success.

I guess the only counterpoints would be prince of persia the lost crown (although I thought it was just ok, a solid 8/10 metroidvania a cut above the pack of forgettable bland cookie cutter slop, but nowhere near the greats of the genre) and how EA handled Dead Space after DS2. That's all I can think of after a whole lifetime of gaming.

I have no idea how the Chuddah meme caught on. You're posting macros screaming about how much you don't care and have an entire culture built around watching things fail and taking personal delight in it. It's so weird seeing steam chart addicts pretend to be enlightened and beyond clickbait and modern trends like they aren't addicted to them.
>>
>>736377791
Durr! It coz they daddies no love them, so they seek praise from strangers on 'puter! Durr!
>>
>>736377784
yeah, there are still a few decent aaa games out there and they still succeed, the point is more that aaa in general is imploding and most aaa games now are trash. that's making room for smaller developers who are actually willing to serve what gamers want.

The problem with AA and indie games is that it's practically impossible to find a community to talk about them with. Look at the indie general on /vg/. It gets, what ,1 post per hour? Dead. And then, even if you do find an active community, the odds that they're talking about YOUR darling indie gem (max. 1000 downloads on Steam) is almost 0%. The only way to foster discussion is if you approach it like a book club with some IRL friends where you all agree to play the same thing so you can talk about it together at scheduled intervals. That is to say, with very few exceptions, this is the death of online vidya discourse.

>i need you to stop shitposting my slop discussions because i desperately want to control the narrative and tell people what they are supposed to do and how they are supposed to interpret events

not happening, loser
>>
>>736377791
You think the meme is about actual chuds sitting around meditating and not doing anything? It's just about not buying the slop, an extension of voting with your wallet.
