Regardless of it being a huge flop, how the fuck do games like this take so fucking long to develop?
There is no fucking way a shitty generic shooter with barely any content and so many people working on it takes over 1 year to develop

Do you know how many certain "consultants" and literal who's need to be asked if something is okay to add in? Think of sweet baby in for example.

0 actual vision so the development spend years in limbo. Reminder that the game had to be rushed with massive outsourcing in the last 2 years because almost nothing was done in the 6 years prior.

Imagine working in a restaurant and you're by yourself and you have to make a pizza.

Now imagine working but you're not by yourself, you have 3 other people so someone can work the front and someone can help with dishes and bussing, a couple people working on the pizzas themselves. A lot more efficient.

Now imagine the same workeplace but you have a 10 million dollar budget so the owner hired 500 people to work in the kitchen. Customer orders a peperoni pizza and you need to ask the board of cheese for another release on one portion of cheese so they go to the dairy department and get that approved. But the sauce director is having a meeting about sauce efficiency so he can't get you the sauce right now but someone working with his assistant could get you some but they're also in the meeting but as soon as they get out they'll be sure to help you as long as they don't have any action items from the meeting.

Because nobody in corporate offices actually does any work if they can help it.
Nobody in those places have any kind of drive or desire to actually finish a product, the idea of it being something they are proud or passionate about is laughable to them.
The primary goal of a corporate bug is to get into a position where you can do as little actual work as possible on any given day and just spend your time drinking coffee, doing teambuilding shit and chatting with other normies in pointless meetings about nothing.

The start and end of a project are usually the busiest and most labour intensive parts and it is much harder to bullshit your way out of work that needs doing. So everyone involved tries to extent the nebulous mid-phase for as long as possible.

That's just red tape. A better analogy would be that that pizza is not inclusive to people with gluten sensitivity or who are lactose intolerant

This is how they work:
>task assigned: write backstory lore for this fuckugly character
>but before that, sweets! they can't work without coffee, yes they take one mug before the daily commute and another one at work
>finished their coffee, time for the morning teams 30 mins meeting to start the day where they talk about useless shit
>meeting's done, have to watch this 1 hour course about what constitutes harassment then take the test and some other HR bullshit mandatory courses
>send course test to HR via mail
>rest room break that's really just to gossip with the girls in front of the mirror while putting on more makeup for the next teams meeting
>another 30 mins teams meeting about the HR course that turns into one hour due to stupid questions
>oh my, lunch time!
>back from the expensive restaurant, teams meeting with the project manager where he talks about deadlines and ask "how's the project going?"
>they all go "today I had a most interesting talk about the project and how to approach it with different perspectives with this and that" which was literally just "hey we need this done this way", and was replied with "ok, I'll tell em it has to be this way"
>ok, time to write this lore backstory, but before that, I need to consult with culture expert some useless bullshit
>the culture experts takes an hour to respond "we need a teams meeting to discuss this"
>another teams meeting where this useless bullshit is discussed and they all clap
>ok in order to write this shit I need this useless info to get inspiration from, team can you send me what you have? thanks
>they take an hour to send it
>times for a teams meeting to discuss what was sent and how to implement it
>after everyone's told how to do implement it, project manager asks for another teams meeting to discuss "workflow strategies"
>now there's a workflow for that specific scenario that will be used once and never again
>amount of lines written in the lore backstory of fuckugly character: 2

Money laundering.
I have no idea what it means but that’s what’s happening.

To elaborate on this - modern teams are like 60-70% contractors or worse - outsourced third worlders that know as soon as the project ends they are getting the boot. The success or failure of the game they are working on has zero influence on their compensation.

So all these people are literally incentivised to work slow and make the project take as long as possible because it makes their employment more stable.

>time for the morning teams 30 mins meeting to start the day
Most of it can be boiled down to this. Meeting, after meeting, after meeting. Sometime you'll have a meeting to discuss what was under discussion during a previous meeting. I don't know when it started but this trend has infected all white collar corpo settings and it's fucking retarded.

>manager makes a daily meeting he doesn't attend just so his calendar looks full
>everyone else still has to attend the meeting and can't cancel it

Money laundering.

Yeah but Indians do 1 hour of work in 10 hours. Then you realise they fucked something up so bad you have to spend 3 hours fixing it.

Bazz alone took over a thousand hours

You don't know what that means.
