When does this game get good? I waste all my time looking at the character screen. Too many choices, it's too overwhelming. I don't like dungeons and dragons. I don't like Baldur's gate. But people keep saying this is the best rpg ever and honestly I don't see it. The characters are weird man. I don't want to party with a skeleton or a lizard or a skinny weird looking elf. Why is this game so highly rated? Why is fantasy writing so bad? The intro to the game they set the setting and it looks like non-serious slop. Reminds me of fable where the story is just light hearted and non-sensical. But I just can't get into it. Does this game ever get good? I always make a character and uninstall after playing for an hour. I don't understand what people see in this game.
>>736379886It's not a game for browns.
instantly
>>736379976Well it seems like it's a game for gays that play DnD or some stupid shit with trannies and browns.
>>736380006What is fun about it? I don't understand... its so boring...
I don't understand can someone please explain why the game is fun? Every fucking review of this game is just stroking it's ego. Nobody explains shit. I tried to look up a guide and I immediately get spoiled that the skeleton dude is the original sin. Just ruins all the mystery for me. Fuck this game.
Sounds like the game just isn't for you OP and that's okay.
>>736379886>Why is this game so highly rated?bably the best combat in any rpgthe best quest and systems design in any rpggreat writing and voice actingcan play with friendsjust a genuinely very good and fun game
>>736381065Why is it that I'm the only person who doesn't like it though?
>>736381218Yet KOTOR did everything better and the combat was better too...as well as the story and the characters... This is just slop... bland fantasy slop
>>736381286no, just completely wrong. this game is the opposite of slop. genuinely one of the best games ever created
>>736379886It doesnt the game sucks. The class mechanic fucking sucks and literally ehery single fight is a tedious gimmick encounter
>>736381409not really. also what do you mean the "class mechanic"? the game has a classless system.
>>736381226If it makes you feel any better, I haven't played it yet but kinda always bounce off the first one whenever I try it. I bounce of BG3 every time I fire it up too.People who don't like it probably just don't talk about it much. Not everything is for everyone.
>>736379886It's a masterpiece.I beat it 4 years ago (4 playthroughs, Classic, Tactician, Honour, Honour noLW), and I just can't get over how far and above better it is than every RPG in existence. It has absolutely top-notch>sense of adventure, immersion, world-building>free-form, challenging, open-ended combat with strong focus on environmental interaction>deep mechanics, strong strategic elements, high replayability>tons of classes, build variety, spells, playstyles to tinker with>memorable fights against a huge variety of well-designed enemies & bosses in unique scenarios that take part in context of a greater narrative/quest, instead of just braindead throwaway trashmobs>limited, unique combat encounters and exponential level system remove the trash mob farming of most RPGs and ensure proper balance throughout the game>incredible intricate, inter-connected world design packed with secrets>memorable, open-ended and branching quests with tons of interactivity/reactivity>vast amounts of player choice & freedom>satisfying power fantasy story where you are a divine being honing his power and gathering strength>lighthearted, downright funny writing that still knows when to be serious or somber>well-written characters with nuanced and engaging arcs>attention to detail, ability to interact with anything, go anywhere, go in any interior, steal anything, kill anyone, story always adapts to your actionsThere are many games that are strong in one aspect, and weak in others. DOS2 is as strong in its weakest aspects as most RPGs are in their strongest aspect. It is just such an incredibly well-rounded game, and it especially excels in open-ended environmental-based combat, player choice and freedom, and interactivity/reactivity that are completely untouched by any other comparable RPG in existence (except other Larian RPGs). This is what a true 10/10 looks like. I just compare any RPG to it, and it's no competition, DOS2 is better in every conceivable way.
>>736381541I understand that. There are a lot of well-made games that I can recognize are well made even if I hate playing them and would never buy them.different strokes for different folks
>>736381632This!I am hopeful though that the new Divinity will surpass it now that they have so many resources and are ditching 5e.
>>736381478Exactly. The system for characters is fucking terrible. Its just pure slop and fits its annoying tedious gimmick encounter trash
>>736381632>memorable fights>fire>fire>fire???>fire
>>736381632Have you ever read a good book though? You talk about the story and the world like it's lord of the rings or westeros... but I can't get into 99% of the fantasy because it's just bland and shitty ripoffs made by (((modern writers)))) and women. Like what you se as going on an adventure of immersion, I see a world I don't care about at all. I care about humanity but there is no humanity in this game. I don't care about lizards and skeletons man. Why is fantasy so satanic and weird?
>>736381863>I am a retard Thanks for sharing
>>736381761What are your issues with it? I fail to see what's so slop about it. I also disagree with your point about "annoying tedious gimmick encounters". You have so many options for each situation that you are rarely forced into one solution.I think the only truly glaring issue (rather than just kinks that need improvement) are that using skillbooks to gain abilities is different than how most RPGs handle it so it can be confusing for people new to the system.>>736381926You seem to be a troll then. The game is oozing humanity in Fort Joy alone. Actually play the game sometime. You just seem like someone too invested in some meaningless culture war and decided to trash a game because your cultural narratives have deemed this random game worthy of your derision. Touch grass please.
>>736381705But how can you respect a writer that puts gay bear sex in their game trailer? Like I will never touch Baldur's gate 3 because of that. I'm only trying Divinity because I hope it's not as weird and gay.
>>736379886>Too many choices, it's too overwhelmingYou are too stupid to play this game or most games for that matter.
>>736381926>have you ever read.... LE BOOK?>/pol/tard spergout>larping as a puritan despite being a porn addict70 IQ internet brainrot post
>>736382047What books have you read though? have you ever read a book? Like video games are not art dude. They are for fun. You talk about it like it's high art and it's hard to take you serious. Treating video games like art is why modern gaming sucks. Go read a book or watch a movie.
>>736379886Builds are simply unfun and the UI is awful. I dont like this trend of rpgs like Bethesda abandoning classes in favor of "le free build". Instead of making the game better it just makes 1 op slop build
>BG3/DOS2 """criticism""">(extremely thinly veiled) autistic /pol/tard rantEvery time
>>736382119Well you people worship this game like it's lord of the rings but it's not. The story is shit. The writing is shit. Just the intro the game gives you this AI generated anime and it looks like the intro the fable. It looks stupid.
>>736382052The writing is really good and so I respect what they do. I guess I don't view things at such a surface level so I'm able to enjoy myself. Like if you will never touch a game because a trailer frightened you then perhaps you just aren't someone who can enjoy media, which is fine.>>736382154What does this even mean? I've read books obviously. And the game is fun. DOS2 is described by its director as a toybox where the goal is to have fun interacting with all the systems. It just so happens there's good writing on top of that.Anyway you just seem to be trolling because your complaints are all over the place.
>>736380942Thanks for spoilers jackass I was going to play this after 1
>>736382274Well it was spoiled to me by a top youtube comment and nobody seemed to care so i doubt it matters... I mean the story seems really stupid anyway
>>736379886>When does this game get good? The first chapter is the best chapter by a large marginIt's just a very off-putting game, the writing is zany but simultaneously tries to be uber grimdark, and the combat becomes extremely monotonous once you realize the optimal strategy is to overwhelm one defense with everyone spamming the same abilities
>>736382241>AI generatedAnother one. You tick every terminally online midwit checkbox. You are like a caricature of a braindead /pol/tard without a single original thought in his head, and the sad thing is there is not even a hint of irony or self-awareness behind any of it.

>>736382416The intro to this game is shit... it has a 5 million dollar budget and the intro video is this cringe thing about a witch and apple? It looks bad man.
>>736382408I like Act 2 more. Fort Joy has the best writing but the quests, combat, and character building is most fun in Act 2.>>736382438I'm not sperging out though? I am just offering my opinion. Your opinion doesn't seem to make sense. I have talked about what I like about the game and what it does well. I have some faults with the game too, but they are pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. You just seem to be throwing a tantrum that you hate everything about the game and that no one shares your opinion. You don't like the game and didn't enjoy your experience with it. That's fine, the game isn't for everyone.

>>736383431I play strategy games. I own tons of games from Slitherine. I even have War in the Pacific, a bigger game than any RPG. But really RPGs are a scaled down war game with a stupid story.
>>736383703 Classic Larian
>>736383703I feel like Act 1 had some missed potential. I like how there's so many ways you can break free but I feel like more of the act should've focused on that feeling of being prisoner and making a great escape. Stuff like the big Magister fight was great.
>>736383703>>736383815In my opinion, that only really applies to DOS1. The town of Cyseal was genuinely amazing to explore and quest in, and the game never really reached that height again unfortunately.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjCZfU-cgew
>>736384019I don't know why people are down on the Shadow-Cursed Lands, I thought that shit was freaky in a good way - like I'd wandered into fantasy Silent Hill or something.
>>736384241Larian likes the cursed land concept (Paradise Downs and Bloodmoon Island in DOS2, for example). And I did like the vibe and mood of the place, in addition to monster designs. It was very inventive.I think people are negative towards it because there are quests some might consider annoying (Gauntlet of Shar, Last Light Inn Raid, Portal Defense) and its generally more linear than Act 1 or 3, even if its still a wide open map for you to play around in compared to other rpgs. Also the lore surrounding it is a bit convoluted which might turn others off.
>>736381632Can I jump right into the second, skipping the first game?
>>736384571yes. the first game is set around 1200 years before the second so the references are very loose.it might be hard going back to the first game though because so much about the engine and systems was improved in the sequel.
Okay I'm going to try and boot up the game again, but I'm just so angry that I'm not having fun
>>736384630Thanks. I actually played it a couple years ago, but dropped it for some reason, something to do with invulnerable enemies, I just couldn't be bothered.
>>736384816Then don't play it, dingus.
>>736384816Dude, you have one free hand, just masturbate while playing. Fun? Fun!
>>736384830if you're talking about the death knights then you got pretty fucking far so I say its fair enough to move to the second one
>>736379886I wish there was a similar game to DOS2 except1) it's more focused on combat than on story (for which I don't really care)2) has some better item progression (so I don't have to go through every trader and every character every time my characters lvl up)Basically a Fallout:Tactics version of DOS2, which they were supposedly working on before they got BG3 license...
>>736384912there's no games to play... that's why I'm digging into my library. Only reason I have this game is I bought it at a very good price years ago on sale. If I paid full price for this game I would be so angry.
>>736379886Pretty much immediatelyThough honestly you might bounce off the game's tone if you are turned off by the companions. The strength is in the gameplay though>>736384571Don't skip the 1st, it's just as good [in some ways better] and has an absolutely amazing OST
>>736382408acts 1 and 2 are very goodact 3 is fucking awfulact 4 is okayI like the combat but it's way too reliant on spamming CC conditions. Which I read that they added the armor system to try to tone that down from DOS1 which is the most braindead thing I've ever heard, all it did was give you a second healthbar you have to whittle down before CC spamming again
>>736385124But the lizards and stuff like that reminds me of LGBT tumblr shit... like sexualized weirdo stuff like you see in modern world of warcraft. Tranny shit. Is larian a tranny company? Why do they have furry races? I've also never wanted to play undead because I'm human and I can't identify with an undead. I can understand humans and dwarves but I don't give a shit about undead characters.
>>736385289Anon you have a skeleton inside youright now
>>736385048yeah that would be nice. though the gameplay demo of Fallen Heroes looked pretty annoying.they're gonna be redoing the itemization in Divinity to be more like BG3, which is great. they had another divinity game that they cancelled along with fallen heroes btw, it was called "Soul for Frost Island" and it was apprently "DOS2 with new mechanics". Apparently there were a lot of good ideas in that game that they're using for the new game. I'm hyped personally.

>>736379886>When does this game get good?It doesn't.In fact, it gets progressively worse.
>>736385340That's cool. They did mention that they're taking all the stuff they learned from previous games to heart for Divinity, I'm interested to see how it blends together.
>>736379886You sound vaguely retarded.
>>736385452Actually I have a soul. In fact I'm Christian and I would never be allowed to play fantasy stuff growing up because it's well known that Dungeons and Dragons is satanic. It infected all of yalls minds. That's why most of the fantasy genre is all LGBT fags and trannies. Every single new company releasing this stuff.
Interesting timing. I loved this game on release and started another run two days ago. This time I'm playing Fane scoundrel/warfare/poly. I forgot how insanely good this game is, I can't put it down.
>>736385529they have spoken VERY highly about their new systems, with swen even going so far as to call it an "evolved turn based combat system" that is "intuitive but deep" and "let's you do amazing things"of course swen has a history of overpromising. but still, they sound very confident this time. they said the next thing they'll show us is gameplay, which I assume will be at PAX West, which is where they showed off BG3 gameplay.also they might be bringing back the DOS2 alpha idea of vaguely open world maps? we'll see.
Actually there is one RPG I do love and it's Kingdom Come Deliverance. I never bought the sequel because I heard it's gay. But the first game is great. No weird fantasy shit. Just knights.
Is Alice killable in act 2 without teleporting cheese? She one shots my party at first round, even if I set up the party outside her aura.
>>736385529hopefully they are done with the juvenile reddit humorit was actually more annoying in dos2 than the rest of their games bc they did tone it down a lot but then you have Lohse quirk chungusing at you constantly in the first half of the game
>>736385874yes. you can use living on the edge to prevent one shotsif youre still stuck, try using bless on the fire
>>736385874Yes but you're probably underleveled
>>736385917I find Lohse's humor was really well done. I mean, she's a bard. And she uses her humor as a coping mechanism for the horrible situation she's in.You can't have grimdark edginess ALL the time. You need some relief to avoid it feeling exhausting.I found it more annoying in BG3 because the world really lacked the sense of tragedy that DOS2 had.
>>736385874she's undead so you can obliterate her with Soul Mate + healing potionsbless gets rid of her aurain general you should be saving that fight for one of the last things you do before you leave act 2
>>736386025I'm level 10 atm. What's the best act 2 route? I don't wanna miss a thing. >>736385949I was semi cheesing her by teleporting her to that ruined fort next to her (where Hannag stays), but she still kills me easily. Maybe I'm under leveled as the other anon pointed out.
>>736386025Is that the entire game dude? That looks super small... wtf I thought this was a big world.
>>736386160That's act 2 alone. It's bigger in-game than what it seems at that pic. Plenty of stuff to do and explore.
>>736386157you're very underleveled. if you want to kill her now for good XP, try teleporting her off the cliff and leading her to Jahan.also try finding her cabin.
>>736386160that's act 2
I loved Source Vampirism in DOS2. 90% of the time if there was a villain you really hated you can summon their spirit and wipe them from existence and they have a line about how terrified they are of you. Very cathartic to do after a difficult fight.
>>736386259Is it? Every map I look up is just as big as the one you show.... it looks small man. One of my first RPGs was Final Fantasy X and that game felt like you were moving long distances and on a journey. But this game doesn't seem like much of a journey at all... tutorial island seems like it takes up a large chunk of the map and if thats true that's a let down.
>>736385917If the reveal trailer is any indication, they seem to be angling for a darker tone than previous entries. That said, I doubt they've shed their goofy sense of humor entirely.
What other RPG does exploration and freedom of movement as well as Divinity OS?That was one of the main things that made me love the games
>>736381632>It's a masterpiece.it is literally masterpiece
>>736386536Why is the map divided? That makes no sense Give me one map. One world.

>>736387275you can get to bloodmoon island without any combat netting you a ton of free XP but I wouldn't recommend that for new players
>>736387367it's worth going there as early as possible for that and also if you have someone with high Lucky Charm you can find a bunch of level 15 gear when you're like level 10but if you're playing blind you'll probably accidentally trigger one of the combats and get btfo
The best part of the game is the first town area. Every zone afterwards is a boring hallway with nothing to explore or interact with

>>736387562>Every zone afterwards is a boring hallway with nothing to explore or interact withNot even remotely true in the slightest and Act 2 has way more to interact with and explore than even Act 1
>>736379886larian can't make actual good games so now they spend all their time in making a passable act 1, release it as "early access" then use the money they scam through that to hire marketers to shill it, they started that with DOS2 and perfected it with BG3, in a just world sven would be hanged but so it goes.

i've played dos2 twice and I genuinely have no idea what they were thinking with act 3, it's so badI've seen 80IQ morons say uhh larian "never finishes games" solely bc of bg3 and it's simply not that. I just cant get it into it meanwhile finished bg3 for the 4th time yesterday, i like some parts of it like that dialogue isnt animated so its much faster to skip and talking to people feels a lot snappier without this stupid camera zoom in, but story and overall tone seems off. Also entire system puts me off cause it feels alien to me, dont know what skills are good and they are gated behind ridiculous shop prices, no idea which feats are worth it and i wanted to do 2mages/2phys but it seemed counterproductive cause i was splitting damage vs armor. Also miss a lot of QoL from bg3, no hotkey to ungroup all, markers on map do not show which quest they refer to, cant just click on inventory item to see what possible replacement options i have, theres no indicator if AoE spell will hit enemy, auto magnet snapping to enemies you cant turn off(could not use AoE cause some of my companions were in melee range), RIDICULOUS amount of surfaces you cant see shit during fights cause everything is under fire, absolutely asine book font size making reading them painful, theres even more crafting components which clatter inventory and no smart bags etc etc. On a bright side it works much better on my shit PC.
>>736387871I enjoyed Act 3. It's a nice change of pace. A much shorter act, more focused on combat, dungeons, and puzzles, and less on exploring towns and talking with NPCs. The few "towns" that exist have very high-end gear to get you ready for late-game. The over-arching quest is very open-ended, and great continuations/resolutios to various companion quests. There are multiple dungeons, and you can do them in any order, and you don't have to fully explore everything because everything you miss can just be overcome by brute-forcing the main puzzle (although you can't skip too much as each one skipped exponentially increases the brute-force required). You can also just completely bypass the chapter with back entrance as wellOverall, a really solid area that keeps things fresh, even if it doesn't *quite* manage to reach the stratospheric heights of Act 1 and Act 2.
>>736390252there are some mods to address inventory bloat also keep in mind that DOS2 is a WAY harder game than BG3. don't feel ashamed about going to an easier difficulty and learning the system there.
>>736390252You know you can craft skillbooks, yeah? Or even just craft Scrolls of a skill? Not to mention, splitting damage types works because many enemies have different values of physical vs. magic armour - only morons insist you have to go with one or the other.
>>736381409>ehery single fight is a tedious gimmick encounterI don't get that at all because even though I love the game I kind of have the opposite opinion. The game could use more unique fights like the puppets with the levers right before the last boss instead of just groups of people, animals, and voidwoken.
>>736390252>i wanted to do 2mages/2phys but it seemed counterproductive cause i was splitting damage vs armorthis was actually kind of fun to me, and a reason why I didn't hate the armour system. i went warrior/cleric/archer/mage, and entering any combat scenario meant i had to think on my feet about positioning everyone, thinking 5 moves ahead, planning for when i could truly dominate the battlefield that said, a downside of it is that you actually do need to really invest in magic armour for your characters because the ai is doing the same thing and will fuck you up if you're carelessbut that's not really an issue until act 4
>>736390252>ridiculous shop pricesthe game kind of expects you to be pickpocketing a lot. It's kind of a weird choice but it's just how it is
>>736379886The game gets "good" as soon as you leave the beach. Once you leave that island it gets bad.Now if you think the game is bad already, then it's only getting worse. But dude, it's a nuLarian game, it's just slop.
>>736390916OK I'm gonna say it. Fort Joy/Reaper's Eye is overrated. No other act has a quest as annoying as the Braccus Rex Maze.
I played the early access it was good albeit weird
>>736379886Chapter 3 is when it really takes off, just as you land on a island. First two chapters -420/10.
Reminder to romance Sebille as a lizard for the irony.
>>736392513>not playing Red Prince and selling Sebille back into slavery again
>>736392638Nah, Red Prince with Sadha wife and Sebille sidepiece is best Origin character path.
>>736390387is there a mod which lets me multi select items? because moving then one by one to a bag is driving me crazy
>>736392734Red Prince should've had a true harem path but that's good too
>>736390796If you go absolute 100% murder hobo (by comming back latter) they reward you with just squeaking out another level. Sven confirmed psycopath.
>>736392791BG3 had a shit ton of UI tricks that I did not know till my 4th run. Im sure its super easy to avoid and you and I will never know as I did the exact same as you.
>>736392835when asked what D&D character would be his favorite to play, Swen answered>Chaotic Evil Dragonborn Wild Magic Sorcererwhich explains a lot about his games, really
>>736393085Kek, hes got a "fun" island for sure.
>>736390796>>736392835You can make good money out of crafting. Empty Cannister + Intestines and Empty Grenade + Fire Essence creates Chemical Warfare Grenades and Cluster Grenades, and both of those go for around 900g a pop. Not to mention a number of books are directly craftable. High Lucky Charm also gives good drops which you can use or shift.
>>736388714>>736388965To this day DOS2 is one of the only games where someone can play a clip of the music and I will know exactly where its from. God it's such a masterpiece, the motifs in the music are amazing. I'm still disappointed by the downgrade in OST quality we got in BG3. Hopefully they pull it back with the next Divinity. You fuckers better have used source drain on Roost. That piece of shit deserves worse than oblivion.
>>736393645The Lone Wolves camp was such a good level. Using Spirit Vision and seeing them be haunted by all of their victims...just such good design. Even better if you're Ifan romancing Sebille.
>>736393645I avoided vampirism for the most part. But for him, I made an exception.
>>736393732Despite having over 800 hours in DOS2, I've only played as custom skeletons, Fane and a custom lizardman on my first run. Hell, I don't think I've ever done a run with Beast, Ifan or Red Prince as companions to completion, I only tried once and they either turned on me in Act 4 or left during Act 3. The Lone Wolves camp is so good, the paladin ghost haunting Mummie Dearest, "She's faster than she looks" and he'll even give you advice on how to weaken her by casting rain. Act 2 feels so crazy, there's a random fucking Harbinger of Doom chilling on one side of the map or the undead druids as well. It annoys me we couldn't source drain Dallis or Lucian for the shit they pulled.
whos more fun companion Lohse or Sebile? cant decide which one to take
>>736393645BG3 has some good tracks, perhaps it lacks a bit of character because its just straight orchestral but it does that orchestral better than most fantasy soundtrackshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ti8dele8ukI feel like they were trying to emulate the BG1 and ToB soundtradcks>>736394484Its hard to describe but DOS2 writing is really good that sort of thing. Presenting cruelty and danger in a really solemn way. Makes the world feel more immersive. There's so many examples throughout the entire game, not just that level. I feel like the Magisters were written really well as super evil unlikable pricks that are actually pretty smart. Too often villains just feel like retarded psychopaths.>>736394786Lohse has a better overall story, but Sebille is less 'annoying' when it comes to personality. Ideally you should take both because they have some of the best writing in the game.
>>736394857better than Prince? cause its either him or her i already decided on Ifan cause i like his voice actor
>>736395249Prince is best as the main character. As a companion, he's funny in a stuck-up kind of way, but not too terribly vital.
>>736395249Prince is better to play as imo. Actually so are all the male companions (aside from Beast). All of the girls are better as followers. Funny, that.
>>736395421I'd argue Fane is better as a companion, at least on a first run. He provides a lot of important backstory, but shares it with the player at a rate that doesn't spoil anything huge.
>>736394857>I feel like they were trying to emulate the BG1 and ToB soundtradcksYeah, that was the biggest issue, they were boxed into making a sequel and so didn't go fully crazy with their own music. Here's to hoping Divinity will be more like DOS2. I hope they go back to the narrator from DOS2 too, no hate for Malady's voice actor but I prefer her voicing companions or characters.>Presenting cruelty and danger in a really solemn wayI think it helps that the villains kind of have a legitimate reason to be acting out, sure some Magisters are sadistic but we literally see what Sourcerers can do at the prologue and later on at the beginning of Act 2. Hell that one fucker at the blackpits starts immolating the world by casting one source spell. The Voidwoken were cast out by the seven and so want to come back and have revenge. This offers a really nice juxtaposition to the pure evil psychos that makes them more monsterous. The stories on the spooky demon island were horrifying and really added to your immersion. The focus on smaller scale stuff like is also great, you have world eating monsters and then you'll have a quest where some trader was betrayed by his adopted son, so you spike his stew to make him shit himself to kill him a less observable area >>736395351>>736395421I always thought Fane made the best MC, from both a power-gaming and narrative perspective.
>>736395587Fane is pretty close to the core of the game's plot, but for someone starting the game, he works better as an expository character than the viewpoint. Meanwhile, the Red Prince has a pretty classical narrative - regain his honor, rescue a beautiful princess, and claim his rightful place on the throne (with the added benefit of personally ushering in a new age of dragons).
>>736395569I remember his ending feeling a bit unsatisfying as a companion. Like yeah, I get he's reeling from all the revelations, but it feels more like he's back to being a passive aggressive dick and ignoring the friendship we developed because the game is rushing to the conclusion and won't let us have an actual conversation about all the shit that went down at the final fight.>>736395587My guess is that Neil Newbon will be the Narrator. They have a light pattern of having the most famous VA from the last game voice them. I also hope we get Malady as a companion. There were a lot of unanswered questions about her being a half-demon that would be perfect to explore in the new game. Also she's just a fun character>>736395769That's a good point.
>>736395587I could go on an on about all the hidden little things that just add to the mood of the world.Shout out to the kids in Driftwood. One of them swam away to try and rescue his dad who was sent to Fort Joy. He was eaten by a shark and you can find his leg in the dying shark's stomach down the shore. If you find his remains you have to make a choice about whether to tell the little kids that their friend died horrifically or lie to make them feel better. And that's not even an actual quest.
>>736394786lohse's story is better in act 4 but both are good choices
>>736396223one of sebille's problems is that her story pretty much ends in act 3 so she's left without anything to do for like 25 hours
>>736379886>I hate picking my character>I hate RPGs>I hate DnDI hate BG>why does this fantasy game have elves and skeletons wtf?>is it good? I already hate it but I need someone to reaffirm my beliefs.
i fucked sebille and the description of her galloping on my cock was actually so hot
>>736395863She was supposed to figure heavily into Fallen Heroes, wasn't she? I heard Divinity is supposed to take place sometime after DOS2, but I don't know when specifically. I think Divinity 2 is supposed to be fifty or sixty years after DOS2?
it's actually kind of funny how they had a female narrator for dos1 then a very posh male narrator for dos2 excitedly reading out very explicit scenes
>>736395863on the boat he realizes that dwelling on the past is what bacchus and everyone else did, throws away his notebook, and travels the world to explore what he's been missing it's a pretty good ending for him
>>736379886mechanically it's better than BG3 but BG3 has a much better world, divinity feels like they just threw a bunch of shit together without direction
>>736396539I liked the DOS2 narrator, though I imagine after the reception Amelia Tyler got in BG3, there'll be a push for someone similar in tone.
>>736396483something like that. Divinity is confirmed to take place 100 years after DOS2. Being a weird half-demon elf woman, I'm sure she's still alive>Fallen Heroesyes she was a main character in that. her plot was that she was getting put on trial for all the shit she was trying to pull in DOS2 (remember that the canon ending is 99% going alone with lucian's plan) and then she would be framed for replacing Lucian with an imposter. Or something like that. The canonicity of Fallen Heroes is very very doubtful so who knows what will happen next.>>736396734ig I just didn't like his, "your history is SHIT" line. but I might just have thin skin. it matches his personality definitely.
>>736379886Go back to your jarpigs
Will the new game have cute lizard women?
>>736398040I don't see why it wouldn't. We might even get a romanceable female lizard companion.
>>736379886Maybe JRPGs are more your style, like bing bing wahoo, anime girls.
>>736398040>>736398185lizard romance confirmed, as to what sex...we'll see.
>>736399151We already had a male lizard party member in the previous game. It makes sense to have a female in this one.
>>736399354that makes sense, you're most likely right but two factors might give us a guy lizard1) swen likes lizards and likes playing as them. Durge and Red Prince are examples of this.2) an eceleb name Luality is known for her love of male lizards, so they might make the lizard male to pander to her. stranger things have happened.
>>736379886>When does this game get good? Thats the best part, it doesn't.But seriously, it gets good years later when it becomes BG3.
>start chatting up lizard>wants to fuck my butt for xp>sounds good>steals all my shit and tells me to leave>don't>kills meWoooooooowww, how was I supposed to know
>>736400058>he didn't select just the right dialogue options to get the prostitute to actually fall in love with you and protect you against the thugs
>>736379886A normal person would go "oh I didn't really like this, guess I'll go do something else"An autistic person would post what you did. Like what? Am I supposed to convince you to like it. I think it better you go eat a rock or two.
>>736399947DOS2 and BG3 are the same game. Actually, DOS2 is better for not being a shitty D&D derivative.
>>736400264it was actually a struggle trying to play Solasta II after getting so used to Larian's 5e
>>736400164If you wanna be a normal person go back to your reddit safe space.
>>736400358Dude, what're you doing playing Solasta 2 already? Wait for it to come out of early access like a sane person. Isn't it supposed to be the 2024 ruleset anyway?
>>736400479I played the demo, which is based on regular 5e. EA does have the 2024 ruleset though
bump for boring game
I hope, based on the reveal trailer, that Divinity gives us some nice spooky central europe autumn vibes rather than the coastal europe and mediterranean vibes of their past games
